Review: "Top Gun Maverick"
Top Gun Maverick by all logic is a film that should not work, but just as the action at times defies logic, the film is just a blast to watch. At times it feels as if Tom Cruise’s Ethan Hunt had been displaced from his Mission Impossible films and planted here in aviation school amongst the best of the best of their kind. Especially when watching the opening scene of Pete Mitchell “Maverick” taking a plane and making it exceed the fastest velocity a human has ever taken a plane. The way that his co-workers look up in awe at computer screens and declare Maverick to be the fastest man alive feels a bit absurd and self-congratulatory of the action maniac that is Cruise, despite these moments of absurdity, the film is likable, full of heart and just fun.

The Reality of She-Hulk
There are many criticisms circulating around the Disney+ She-Hulk show, none are valid however. Even the opinions close to approaching valid, completely miss the point of the show. She-Hulk is a funny, relevant and much needed addition to the Marvel universe that has been under fire since its inception. Review bombed before it's release She-Hulk has been fighting off internet trolls with every episode, brilliant social media moves from the shows fan account have only pissed off internet fanboys more. But I will defend the show to the death so here we go…

Review: "Barbarian"
Barbarian is a new horror film that may just be one of the better horror films of the year. It is inherently aware of the downfalls of telling a horror story and the tropes that come with the storytelling of horror and has moments where audiences will surely laugh. It is a tense film with characters that are put in situations that will make the audience feel claustrophobic, but the actors also are perfect in their roles which helps elevate the proceedings quite a bit. It is best to go into this movie knowing as little as possible, as the twists and turns that came at you have a way of making everything a bit more unnerving. Unlike most movie trailers these days, surprisingly the trailers and advertisement for Barbarian gives away nothing outside of the film’s initial setup which may lead to driving audiences away.

Avatar
Like many film fans at the moment, we went to go watch the re-screening of Avatar in preparation for the sequel’s release. Upon re-watching this movie I was thankful, so thankful that I fell asleep the first time it was released because this film is truly so terrible. And I am glad that I didn’t know how bad it was going into it, or I wouldn’t have watched it.

'House Of The Dragon': Why Queen Alicent's Grand Entrance May Be The Most Pivotal Moment Of The Series So Far
WARNING! SPOILERS for House Of The Dragon 1x05, 'We Light The Way'. Any Game Of Thrones fan will know that nothing good happens at a wedding in Westeros. It is far more likely for the event to end in tragedy than with the couple happily wed. Game Of Thrones prequel House Of The Dragon continues this unfortunate tradition.

Westworld and the Limits of White Imagination
Thomas Jefferson described the relationship with the men and women he enslaved as holding "a wolf by the ear, and we can neither hold him nor safely let him go." While he allegedly favored "gradual emancipation," he feared that sudden liberation would result in a race war. We will discuss this fear in greater detail later, but keep it in the back of your mind as we examine the sci-fi hit Westworld and how it relates to revolution and imagination.
