Never Ever Land
My name is Stephanie Hoogstad, and I am a Disney adult. Now, I know that sounds like a bad introduction at a Disney-holics Anonymous meeting, but that would imply that I’m trying to recover from some sort of addiction. I’m not. Is Disney an addiction? That’s debatable. As of right now, I don’t spend so much money and time on Disney for it to be considered a problem—yet. And I don’t view my love of Disney as an adult to be a problem. The problem is that there are people who think it’s a problem and will go out of their way to shame Disney Adults, especially online.

Let the Games Begin
I have been stuck in a reading rut for quite some time. I have had a few books going here and there, but nothing that I could seem to stay focused on. As I was taking inventory of my classroom library, I set aside Suzanne Collins’ book, “The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes,” the prequel to her Hunger Games series. I have not read any of the Hunger Games books since they were first released, but every year I use excerpts from the books and various clips from the films in a curriculum unit that I teach about heroic survivalism. I started to read that afternoon after I wrapped up work in my classroom, and I found myself coming out of the reading rut that I had been stuck in for so long.

Before Rocket Raccoon Takes Centre Stage In 'Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol.3', Let's Look Back At His 10 Best Moments
It may be hard to believe given their popularity now, but once upon a time, Guardians of the Galaxy was considered the riskiest project the Marvel Cinematic Universe had ever attempted. In an already risky film, Rocket, a wise-cracking, gun-toting, genetically modified raccoon, was considered one of the riskiest characters to adapt to the big screen, especially considering the possibility of his eventual crossover into other MCU franchises, such as the Avengers.

Chevalier
From the minute we saw the trailer for Chevalier I knew I wanted to see it. I have a thing for French Revolution stories (Les Misérables is one of my favorite musicals after all), add in some music and an attractive actor and I am pretty much sold.

Polite Society
It seems that 2023 is another great year for movies and that is something that is greatly exciting to an aspiring filmmaker like myself. One of the truly delightful movies that we got to see this past weekend was Polite Society. A film about sisterly love, believing in yourself and inappropriate mother-son relationships.
