Was Batman v. Superman a Financial Disaster?
At first Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice enjoyed a wonderful opening weekend but then suffered a 69% drop, which is so bad, so terrible in cinema history that this was built up as WB’s own 'Great Depression'. Do you recall the doomsday prophets with things like "the movie needs to make over $800 million or even $1 billion just to break even"? You could find plenty of these claims in the first month and a half of the film’s release. Yet, are they true? Let us forget the critical side of this film and look purely at its economics. Let's look at a few other movies to see in comparison, if Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice is the financial disaster many claim it to be. Finally, let's find out if Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice was a box office flop or made a profit for Warner Bros.

Movie Review: 'Daddy Issues' Is My Favorite Movie of 2019 So Far
Daddy Issues is my favorite movie of 2019 thus far. This indie romance came out of absolutely nowhere, and absolutely floored me with its effortless artistry, and original storytelling. Director Amara Cash is an absolute revelation whose work here is that of a veteran filmmaker even as it is her first feature length film. In Daddy Issues, Cash does what truly exceptional directors do, she pays attention to every single detail. From cinematography to soundtrack to costume to her incredible cast, Cash exerts a control that many mainstream directors of multiple feature films could stand to learn from.

Selfishness vs Rationalism
Adam Mckay’s biographical comedy-drama film The Big Short gives us insight into the complicated financial world, and the inner workings of Wall Street that would otherwise seem like another world to us. However, not only does the film break down complex financial jargon and concepts to make it more understandable, it also reveals to us the nature of the human condition. Although the characters all have different ethics and morals when it comes to making money, they are all tied by one idea–we may all coexist in the same society, but we live in fact as if it is survival of the fittest. The idea behind this is that it is human nature to do what is best for ourselves, as our inherently selfish nature means that we live for ourselves and not others.

What’s up?Silas is back. Obviously, the most striking element of this film is the transformation of Nicole Kidman. Her weathered, unkempt appearance with black-rimmed eyes, smudged skin, and a tousled haircut indicate an unhealthy lifestyle, and a stubborn addiction. It soon becomes clear that the bottle has become her closest friend. Normally Nicole Kidman looks so snappy and flashy in other films. Here’s she’s shabby and unrecognizable. The past took a heavy toll on her during an undercover operation where her partner Chris (Sebastian Stan) drew the short straw. Erin Bell (Nicole Kidman) has since lived in a daze. Probably an attempt to erase the past, and to alleviate the pain in her ruined life.

'Batman v. Superman': Dawn of My Awakening for Film
I can still recall when the Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice Comic-Con trailer dropped and how exhilarated I was to watch it in its pristine glory. Quite frankly, I was breathless—seriously! I let what I watched stew in me for a moment as I reflected on it. Mentally, I told myself not to watch it again, otherwise it could ruin the effect the full-length film would have on me when I was to finally see it. I did not listen to my own advice and quickly re-watched the trailer. On my second viewing I kept my breath but tears dropped down my cheeks because of how happy I was to see something like this exist. What is amazing is how the film would deliver on these feelings for me, as well as change film for me forever.
