Spoiler Alert: We Need to Talk About the Unintentionally Hilarious Ending of 'Angel Has Fallen'
That Angel Has Fallen is one of the worst movies of 2019 should come as no surprise. Olympus Has Fallen is a legendary terrible movie in which Gerard Butler originated his meathead, franchise fronting, character, Secret Service Agent Mike Banning. That was followed up by London Has Fallen, another desperately moronic action flick in which Butler took the macho nonsense of Olympus has Fallen and brought it to the international stage.

5 Movies from Your Childhood That Were Unintentionally Terrifying. Top Story - August 2019.
When we were kids, life seemed so much simpler... Basically all you had to worry about was keeping on the up and up with Saturday morning cartoons and brushing your teeth after your third bowl of Crunch Berries so your parents wouldn’t ride your ass about it. The adults were in charge of keeping you alive and the rest was just good livin.' Income taxes, tampons, cholesterol, and whiskey dick were still in the distant and unfathomable future.

Movie Review 'The Kitchen' Sinks
The Kitchen is a stultifying mess of a movie. This failure of tone and purpose features three exceptional actresses starring in the same movie, yet often appearing as if they are in different movies, acting with different purpose. The Kitchen stars Melissa McCarthy, Tiffany Haddish, and Elisabeth Moss in a story of late 70s mobsters.

The Beauty in 'Trash'
Set in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Trash shines a light on the issue of corruption within the political realm, and the citizens' own police force through the eyes of three boys who take it upon themselves to finish what one man started and overcome it all. Mark Kermode called this film “a cross between Slumdog Millionaire and City of God.” I believe that this film is a window film, because within this film lies the “ability to speak truth to reality” as Andre Bazin, a film theorist, stated. I enjoy watching window films such as this one, because they don’t really end. Even as we walk out the theatre or turn off our TVs, the story continues in our minds and in our lives, and it’s up to each of us to decide how we want to end that story.

Movie Review: 'Where'd You Go Bernadette'
Where'd You Go Bernadette? Antarctica. Bernadette went to Antarctica, it's literally in the trailer for the movie. I'm being obtuse and flippant, but Where'd You Go Bernadette inspires such flippancy. This paean to awful rich people without real problems flounders among a set of characters so unlikable or poorly realized that even the effervescent Cate Blanchett is taken down.

Movie Review: 30 Years of 'Uncle Buck'
When I was a kid, I thought Uncle Buck was a good movie. Now, it's the perfect illustration of how, though movies don't change, we do. 30 years later, as an adult with taste, and what I hope is a little sophistication, I can look back on Uncle Buck, and Roger Ebert's review of Uncle Buck, which I disliked at the time, and see that Roger was absolutely right, and I was as immature and childish as this movie.

Documentary Films
What does the future hold for Documentary style movies and television shows? Documentary films have been on the rise in popularity over the past decade, and it’s in my belief that in the not too distant future, documentary films will be the go to medium for visual entertainment. Now that the general public has access to professional grade cameras that are affordable, the playing field not only has leveled, but the weekend warrior cinematographer can capture shots just as aesthetically pleasing as any Hollywood director. Another caveat that has enabled amateur filmmakers to compete with the film industry is the Internet. The Internet has provided ordinary individuals with a platform where they potentially can be heard across the globe. Affordable equipment and world-wide exposure, what else does someone need to make a film?
