Mahopac Native Brings the Plight of the Tiger Home in 'Tigerland'
The fact that there are now only 500 Tigers left in Far East Russia probably doesn’t get a lot of play around dinner tables in Mahopac, NY. But the distance doesn’t diminish the issue for a Mahopac native who has made a name as an Oscar winning Documentary Filmmaker, and is the subject of his latest film, Tigerland.

Classic Movie Review: 'The Fabulous Baker Boys' Deserves Its Forgotten Status
As a fan of Jeff Bridges, the star of my favorite movie of all time, The Big Lebowski, I often ponder his career, what he's done and will do next. As the 30th anniversary of the release of 1989s The Fabulous Baker Boys approached, I began to wonder why no one ever talks about this nightclub romance with Michelle Pfeiffer and Jeff acting alongside his IRL brother, Beau.

Classic Movie Review: 'Crimes and Misdemeanors'
Crimes and Misdemeanors perfectly captures the ability of a perfectly mediocre, rich, white guy to get away with just about anything. Spoilers ahead, the movie is 30 years old, you've had your chance to see it. The film stars Martin Landau as an ophthalmologist who has his criminal brother, played by Jerry Orbach, hire someone to kill his mistress, played by a slumming Anjelica Huston.

Movie Review: 'Jexi' Is Bad but What Were We Expecting?
I should have known better than to try and think positive thoughts about Jexi. I should have approached it with the disdain with which the trailer had instilled within me. I should have been skeptical of my recent less than averse feelings for Adam Devine. Instead, I tried to be positive. I tried hard to go in and laugh. It was not worth such effort.

10 Films of the 2010s That May Become Classics in Years to Come
I'm definitely looking to the future of cinema as I did my MA in Film and Writing. I love the concept that in years to come there may still be classics,, and whilst Casablanca and The Seven Year Itch, etc. will remain in our memories as the greatest films ever made, there may be some room for more to enter and they may even be from our own time.

Late Review: 'Joker'
As much as they say they don't, people really do love drama. The film Joker was primed to be just "one" of those. A film whose subject matter who happens to ridden with guilt and critics say to watch with a cautious eye. After my own viewing, this is far from the truth and people/critics may have interpreted it in a different way.

Five Classic Films That Are Worth a Rewatch
Me and You and Everyone We Know Miranda July’s barnstorming debut works on a few different levels, and it is worth watching it again to see how all the different stories interplay. Yes there are few moments that grate, such as the teen girl fantasy subplot, but overall it still hangs together really well, over a decade later.

'Judy' Is an Apprenticeship in Judgement
An apprenticeship in judgement, Judy, Hollywood’s latest biopic, follows the troubled Judy Garland during her final year, but this latest silver-screen-addition proves to be more than just a reimagining of Garland’s life out of Oz.
