A Filmmaker's Guide to: Marion Cotillard
In this chapter of ‘the filmmaker’s guide’ we’re actually going to be learning about literature and film together. I understand that many of you are sitting in university during difficult times and finding it increasingly hard to study and I understand that many of you who are not at university or not planning on it are possibly stuck of what to do, need a break or even need to catch up on learning film before you get to the next level. This guide will be brief but will also contain: new vocabulary, concepts and theories, films to watch and we will be exploring something taboo until now in the ‘filmmaker’s guide’ - academia (abyss opens). Each article will explore a different concept of film, philosophy, literature or bibliography/filmography etc. in order to give you something new to learn each time we see each other. You can use some of the words amongst family and friends to sound clever or you can get back to me (email in bio) and tell me how you’re doing. So, strap in and prepare for the filmmaker’s guide to film studies because it is going to be one wild ride.

Campy Movies to Watch if You Love Rocky Horror Picture Show
Halloween matinees and cult obsession has followed the film ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW (1975) for decades now. Groundbreaking in its depiction of sexuality and unforgettable acting, ROCKY HORROR is an unapologetically strange and at times devastatingly tragic tale. The film is a mod-podge of science fiction, catchy musical numbers, sexy drama, and quirky comedy riddled with jealous murderous rage. Whatever about ROCKY HORROR that keeps you crawling back to watch it time and time again, one of these movies should help satiate your cravings. So, come up to the lab and see what's on the slab.

Movie Review: 'Sin La Habana'
Sin La Habana, or Without Havana, for those who need a translation, is a challenging story about immigration, desperation and sex as a marketplace. The protagonist of Sin La Habana is a male ballet dancer who doesn’t fit your Hollywood stereotype of men in ballet. He’s a Cuban man with a beautiful girlfriend, a hot temper and ego to spare. It’s that ego that will be challenged throughout as the story of Sin La Habana unfolds.

Who Stopped The Roger Rabbit Sequel?
While Who Framed Roger Rabbit is a beloved movie now, people who worked on the flick had a different perspective. It was in development hell. No executive or producer could agree on a vision for how the story should come together. Or how to film it.

As a filmmaker I find myself watching films that I want to recommend. Why not recommend them to the internet? I picked up a subscription to Hulu a few months ago and I didn't plan on sticking around when the free month was over. It's been 5 months now and I'm enjoying it very much.

Movie Review: 'Coming 2 America'
Will we as a collective culture ever tire of having our nostalgia reheated like leftovers and served to us on a silver platter? Whether it is the return of Bill and Ted or another miserable Terminator rehash, Hollywood is continually rewarded for serving us warmed up nostalgia as if it were a gourmet meal with the media and the adoring public watching every reiteration, so I get why they do it. The question is for you, dear reader, why do you keep treating bowls of pre-packaged microwave goo like it is filet mignon from the finest restaurant?
