Forgotten 'Toons
Cartoons have been a part of our collective lives in one form or another for hundreds of years. Even Leonardo da Vinci drew caricatures based on famous personalities of his day. The cartoon characters most of us are familiar with are the ones who have turned up on television or been made famous by regular appearances in newspapers and books. While it's safe to assume classic 'toon favorites like Charlie Brown, Garfield, and Mickey Mouse will always be with us, there are some once-popular cartoon characters who have since faded into obscurity -- at least in the minds of recent generations more obsessed with gadgets and social media trends than animated creations that aren't memes or GIFs.

The Nintendo Entertainment System (NES), named by IGN the greatest video game console in history, is absolute video gaming royalty, along with all the NES games. Spawning blockbuster franchises like Super Mario, Ninja Gaiden, Metroid and Zelda, they still have huge fan bases today. The classic 8-bit graphics make you really how the console must have felt so state of the art in 1983. Amazing Book-to-Movie Adaptations
Have you ever met a devoted bookworm, and have you ever asked them how they feel about the movie adaptations of their favorite book? So often, they respond with the same line: "The book was MUCH better than the film." Said with an air that implies that the whole idea of a filmmaker adapting the written world to the silver screen is doomed to fail. And, indeed, many film adaptations of books do fail. They don't recapture the magic of the original. They forget important details.
