Between 2000-2010, television entered a Golden Age. By the late nineties, cable television replaced first-run movie premieres, syndicated TV shows, and infomercials with original programming. Without broadcast standards to censor their productions, cable TV pushed the envelope by telling stories that were smart, mature, and challenging. Yet this era didn't exist in a vacuum. Both broadcast and cable television had been producing quality programming for years. In fact, between the 1980s and 1990s, it produced programs that were not only critically acclaimed but influential. This list highlights the Top 10 Most Influential TV shows from that era.

John Wick: Chapter 4 Movie Review
Since 2014, the John Wick franchise has climbed to the top of the action genre with some of the best fight choreography and set pieces in modern filmmaking. Blending martial arts, gunplay and a sleek presentation, it quickly overtook many of its competitors. After nine years in the game, the mainline story comes to a close with John Wick: Chapter 4. Like all the films before it, this is one thrill ride that never lets up.

SHAZAM: Fury Of The Gods_Movie Review
“Shazam! Fury of the Gods” is the sequel to the 2019 superhero movie “Shazam!”. As a studio-produced sequel and a superhero movie made in 2023, it arrives with two strikes against it. One would expect a certain level of creative committee-mandated monotony regardless of how one feels about the first movie. However, the makers of “Shazam!” toned down both the cynicism and sentimentality that have come to define lighthearted superhero movies. “Shazam! Fury of the Gods” meanders further in that direction.

Babylon (2022) Movie Review
Damien Chazelle’s latest film “Babylon” takes us back to the 1920s, during the transition from silent films to talkies, and explores the magic of Hollywood, the tireless pursuit of perfection, and the cost of fame. The film’s protagonist is Manny Torres (Diego Calva), a Mexican American who is trying to get an elephant to an insane Hollywood party. Chazelle uses the debaucherous party scene to introduce us to the ensemble cast, which includes Nellie LaRoy (Margot Robbie), an aspiring actress whose star is about to rise, Jack Conrad (Brad Pitt), a silent film star about to leave his third wife, and a jazz trumpet player named Sidney (Jovan Adepo), among others.

In Matt Ruskin's "Boston Strangler," Keira Knightley delivers a compelling performance as Loretta McLaughlin, a wife and mother who works at the Record-American newspaper. Alongside her partner Jean Cole (played by Carrie Coon), Loretta discovers a connection between recent murders in the area, in which women are strangled with their underwear tied around their necks in a bow. The two women are the first to pursue and broadcast this connection through the paper, aware of the importance of this information for women all around the greater Boston area.

Black Box (2020) Movie Review
Emmanuel Osei-Kuffour Jr.'s captivating directorial debut "Black Box" delves into the significance of memory and one man's struggle to connect with his past. The film centers around Nolan, a photographer who lost his memory due to a car accident that killed his wife, making it difficult for him to bond with his daughter. In their poignant relationship, she helps him by writing reminders about everyday tasks on Post-it notes placed throughout the house. However, when it comes to his wife and their relationship, Nolan is left with numerous questions, which Mamoudou Athie's sensitive performance helps to bring to life. It's a grounded approach to a profound crisis, in which Nolan is desperate to discover what kind of husband he was.

The Trial of the Chicago 7 (2020) Movie Review
Aaron Sorkin’s “The Trial of the Chicago 7” is a timely and accomplished ensemble piece that aims to spark conversation about the events of the 1960s and how far the country has come since then. The film introduces viewers to the key players of the trial of the Chicago 7, who traveled to the city to protest the Vietnam War during the Democratic National Convention. The film’s powerhouse cast, including Eddie Redmayne, Sacha Baron Cohen, and Frank Langella, relish the opportunity to chew on Sorkin’s timely and provocative language. However, the film falls short in some areas due to Sorkin’s direction, which is too polished and lacks the emotional impact that the story deserves.

Boston Strangler - A Hulu Movie Review
We better start this news story. Boston Stranger is a 2023 Hulu film. Based on the brutal 1965 serial killer attacks in Boston, Loretta McLaughlin and Jean Cole document the murders in the newspaper. Ignoring sexist remarks, they connect the pieces of Boston’s most notorious serial killer.
