Women in Comics
“[In comics] representation is absolutely vital.” – Kelly Sue DeConnick In 2014, the comics art organization Sequart produced the documentary She Makes Comics directed by Marisa Stotter in an attempt to trace the history of women in the comics industry since the early 1900s. Throughout the hour and ten minute documentary one thing is made perfectly clear, as comics writer and editor Kelly Sue DeConnick states, “representation is absolutely vital” (Stotter 0:0:57). For some time now, the comics industry has taken flack for its lack of diverse representation within its creative teams as well as the comics that they produce. While representations of race and queer bodies have made some impact on the industry, the lack of women both within the comics as well as working in the industry has taken a front seat in the drive forward for better representation in comics.

GEEKS Previews Marvel's November 2017 Solicitations
Just a day after the solar eclipse enchanted North America, Marvel Comics released its grand plan for its November. However, after previewing several titles, it looks like Marvel Legacy is more or less "Dark Reign: II" as several of the House of Ideas’ greatest villains now have the upper hand on everyone’s favorite heroes.

'The Wicked + the Divine:' The Faust Act
Kieron Gillen and Jamie McKelvie's seminal comics series, The Wicked +the Divine, plunges the reader into a world where every ninety years twelve Gods incarnate on Earth and have two years to do whatever they want before returning to the realms they came from. In the past, they've been poets, muses, artists, and the like; in the modern age, they are pop musicians and icons.

Review on "Pandora Hearts"
First, before we dig in, let's talk about how I got into this series—and I say series because I watched all 25 episodes and read all 103 chapters of the manga. It was recommended to me by a friend and I was curious because it is a sort of parody of the well-known story Alice In Wonderland. I will tell you now, I give the manga a 10/10. The anime not so much. And because I do not have love for the anime, I will speak of it first.

Silver & Black Release Date Announced
Every time Sony makes an announcement regarding anything to do with Spider-Man or the associated characters, I find myself pondering this question. To be perfectly honest, it’s more like a ponderous drum beat thumping in the back of my head. It all began with the announcement of a Sinister Six movie way back in 2014 following the release of TheAmazing Spider-Man 2. It wasn’t so much the idea of a Sinister Six movie that rubbed me the wrong way, it was the idea of having a movie devoted to Spider-Man's rogues' gallery without the inclusion of the wall crawler himself. It just didn’t make any sense. Then there was the announcement of an Aunt May solo film, and the jaws of Spider-Man fans the world over collectively dropped. I had to lie down for several minutes my head was thumping so hard that day. Then Sony was hacked and the world got to see for themselves the circus that went on behind the scenes. This left Sony and in particular Amy Pascal, I still don’t understand how this woman managed to avoid the firing squad, in a deeply embarrassing and precarious situation. From the ashes of catastrophe came a single spark of hope in the form of a deal with Marvel, which led to Spidey’s inclusion in Civil War. From the moment he arrived on the screen in that trailer, the fans knew that finally, we had the Spider-Man we had been praying for and we rejoiced.

Why I Love "Anime Cartoons" When I'm "Too Old For It"
Many people have criticized me for the fact that I watch cartoons when I am old enough to watch reality TV and political arguments that have no end. Even when I am mature in my life and I do have a life, I am still criticized. Looked down upon for enjoying a childish show.

Another Three Must-Read Webcomics.
The three webcomics I'll be discussing today are personal favorites and those are Girls Of The Wild's, Green Boy and Tamen De Gushi. Webcomics are very popular in China, South Korea, Japan and soon enough, perhaps the rest of the world. From their amazing art style to the vibrant color schemes, what's not to love about webcomics?

DC Universe's Supersons – Vol. 1
From the very moment I opened the comic to the first page, I was hooked. Initially, I came across Supersons because of the YouTube channel ComicsExplained. I highly recommend it for any and everyone who's interested in both Marvel and DC universes. That aside, the story of Supersons centers around Damian Wayne and Jonathan Kent, sons of our favorite heroes Batman and Superman.

The Forgotten and Undying Ones, Part Seven: Dr. Strange in the Original Infinity War
The funny thing about Dr. Strange being featured so prominently in leaked imagery from the set of Avengers: Infinity War is the weird and randomly truncated appearance in the original Infinity War miniseries, the sequel to Infinity Gauntlet (which was the story that made me fall in love with comics generally and Dr. Strange specifically, but more on that later).
