A Robin's Last Stand in Detective Comics #940?
Today I'm launching a weekly series that will unveil what I consider to be the very best comic published this week. I'll be casting my eye across the entire Marvel and DC range, and beyond, to the smaller, independent publishers you may otherwise miss. For this first week, though, there isn't even any competition. Detective Comics #940 - the conclusion of "Rise of the Batmen" - is hands-down one of the best comics I've read in a long, long time.

This is the X-Men's "ResurrXion," and it promises a whole new direction for the X-Men!

The X-Men And The Inhumans Prepare For The Final Battle!
If you're following the X-Men comics, you'll know that the current status quo is a very dark one. The mutant race is once again on the verge of extinction, and the #Inhumans are (indirectly) responsible! In 2013's "Infinity" event, the Inhuman monarch Black Bolt released the Terrigen Mists into the Earth's atmosphere. A year ago, in the aftermath of "Secret Wars", #Marvel revealed that the Terrigen Mists are in fact poisonous to mutants! Even as Terrigen creates an ever-expanding Inhuman race, it's actually killing off the mutant race. Now, finally, this extinction plot is leading the X-Men and the Inhumans into head-on battle!

Exploring The Comic Book Roots Of 'Avengers: Infinity War'
The crowning glory of Phases 1-3 of the MCU, Avengers: Infinity War is set to bring Earth's Mightiest Heroes (and probably the Guardians of the Galaxy too) into battle with the Mad Titan, Thanos! Although the title of the film is Infinity War, fans have long believed that the arc will actually adapt the classic Infinity Gauntlet miniseries — a view that's just been corroborated by one of Marvel Studios's bosses!

'Superman' #10 Teases Superboy & Robin 'Super Sons' Team Up — Will This Revive DC's Legacy Heroes?
The last few years have seen Marvel Comics launch a tremendous range of so-called 'Legacy Heroes' — characters like Miles Morales's Spider-Man, Kamala Khan's Ms. Marvel, and Sam Alexander's Nova. The latest is Riri Williams, a fifteen-year-old genius who's taking over the mantle of Iron Man! But Marvel's greatest rival, DC, has seemed slow to get in on the act. Although there have been some notable teen-focused books (a tremendous new Teen Titans series, for example), they just haven't seemed to resonate with fans. Amanda Conner and Jimmy Palmiotti's excellent Starfire series didn't even last past its twelfth issue.
