Separating fact from fantasy regarding the soap vet.

Burton is not on his way back to General Hospital

Steve Burton was fired from his role as Jason Morgan on General Hospital in October 2021 because he refused to get the COVID vaccine. The actor had been on the series for over 3 decades. He has said he is open to returning to the ABC soap and fans continue to hope this comes to pass. Rumors began spreading that Burton was headed back to Port Charles but that won’t happen unless one of two things takes place.

The coronavirus continues to infect and kill people so Disney and ABC are probably not going to change their COVID policy. In addition Ingo Rademacher ( Jasper Jacks) and former fathe and son GH crew members James and Timothy Wahl are suing ABC and Disney. The giant media company will no doubt maintain their position about COVID vaccine mandates and Burton refused the vaccination on religious grounds. Either the corporation or Steve would have to give in on their views and that more than likely will not happen. This dispells the rumor that Burton is on his way back to Port Charles.

Burton is on Peacock and not NBC

Burton ‘s latest role is reprising his first soap character Harrison Michaels on the Peacock series Days of Our Lives: Beyond Salem 2, The soap vet portrayed Michaels as a teen on DOOL in 1988. This has begun rumors that Burton will be taking Harrison back to Salem but at this point it’s not true. Soap fans find it interesting that NBC dug up this particular character who has no lasting ties to the core Salem residents. Some viewers believe Burton was pursued because he has been fired by General Hospital and the Days execs want to capitalize on the situation.

Most longtime fans of Days of Our Lives probably don’t even recall Michaels or that Burton was in the role. Beyond Salem 2 spoilers say the 5 episode series will explore a storyline from long ago that fans will remember but it probably is not related to Harrison. More than likely it has to do with Bo and Hope Brady ( Peter Reckell and Kristen Alfonso) who are beloved chsracters and will be a big draw for the Peacock series. Adding Burton in the midst of his high profile situations is certainly a plus. I’m addition to being fired from GH Steve announced that his wife is pregnant but he’s not the father.

Anything is possible but at this writing Burton is on Peacock and nothing has been said about his character making a return to NBC. This does not rule out the possibility that Michaels might return to Days of Our Lives but right now there are not even spoilers suggesting it but some fans are.

Steve Burton’s wife

Since announcing that his wife Sheree is pregnant by another man Burton has not addressed the issue. Some fans were hoping Sheree, 47 would name her baby daddy or he would come forth and reveal himself. Steve asked for privacy and he has not said another word on the issue. Those speculating and putting their own spin on things are simply out of luck.

Having said that Steve or Sheree can always choose to break their silence and the father of her baby could do the same. NBC could ask Burton to reprise his character on Days of Our Lives and the actor could reach an agreement with .ABC and return to General Hospital. Be on the lookout for spoiler alerts and updates for each of these situations and don’t forget to tune in to Peacock from Jul to the 15th and watch Steve Burton as an adult Harrison Michaels. Remember that you must subscribe to Peacock for $4,99 monthly and cannot watch Beyond Salem 2 on the free streaming service. For limited commercials you can upgrade for $10,99 monthly.
