Several of the main characters from season one return in Squid Game season 2, along with a number of new recruits. Squid Game season 2 returns more than three years after its September 2021 launch, when it became the most-watched series on Netflix ever. Lee Jung-jae, who starred in Season 1, is back as Seong Gi-hun, the winner of Squid Game, who is determined to hold the game's developers accountable. The return of Wi Ha-Joon as Hwang Jun-Ho and Hwang In-ho, the front man of Lee Byung-hun, are also part of the cast of Squid Game season 2.

In addition to returning to write and direct Squid Game season 2, series creator Hwang Dong-hyuk has already confirmed that the third and final season of the acclaimed thriller will air in 2025. Squid Game season 2 consists of seven episodes after season 1's nine-episode run. Seong Gi-hun emerged victorious from the Squid Game with 45.6 billion won, according to the conclusion of Squid Game season 1. Gi-hun chooses to reenter the Squid Game in order to defeat it from within, despite his newfound fortune.

Seong Gi-Hun, played by Lee Jung-Jae

Actor: From Seoul, South Korea, Jung-Jae is a well-known actor worldwide. In 1994, he starred in his first film after making his television debut in The Young Man. His breakthrough performance came in E-J Yong's 1998 award-winning film An Affair. For his legendary performance as Gi-hun in Squid Game season 1, Jung-Jae received an Emmy, a Critic's Choice Award, a SAG Award, and an Independent Spirit Award. He has since starred in Disney's The Acolyte, Blue Birthday, Hunt, and Revolver.

Character: Squid Game's breakout star and protagonist from season one is back for season two. In a daring attempt to destroy the Squid Game from the inside out, Gi-hun decides to go back inside even though he has already won around $46 billion and escaped the Squid Game.

As Hwang In-Ho/The Front Man, Lee Byeong-hun

Actor: Byeong-Heon debuted on television in 1991 with the series Asphalt My Hometown. He was born in Seoul, South Korea. Byeong-Heon has starred in more than 50 movies and television shows, but his most well-known role was that of Sun-woo in the 2005 Korean crime drama A Bittersweet Life. He also starred in the crime drama I Saw the Devil (2010) in the Korean action movie Joint Security Area (2000). Concrete Blues, Our Blues, Emergency Declaration, and The Man Standing Next are some of Byeong-Heon's most recent credits.

Character: The Front Man, also called In-ho, makes a comeback after telling his younger brother, Jun-ho, who he really is in the Squid Game season 1 finale.

Hwang Jun-Ho as Wi Ha-Joon

Actor: South Korean-born Ha-Joon made his acting debut in the 2015 Korean criminal thriller Coin Locker Girl. The most well-known role Ha-Joon had before was that of Ji Seo-joon in the romantic K-drama Romance is a Bonus Book. He is also known for his parts in the 2018 found-footage horror film Gonjiam: Haunted Asylum and the 2021 action comedy series Bad and Crazy. The Midnight Romance in Hagwon, Little Women, and The Worst of Evil are a few of his most recent roles. Ha-Joon also makes appearances in Gyeongseong Creature and Destined With You.

Character: One of the primary characters from Squid Game's first season, Jun-ho, makes a comeback in season two. It was unclear if Jun-ho was still alive following the actual cliffhanger conclusion of season 1 because his brother, the Front Man In-ho, had shot him in the shoulder.

Lee Seo-hwan As Jung-bae (Player 390)

South Korean-born actor Seo-hwan made his acting debut in the 2015 drama Yeogosang. He was cast in a recurring role as Heo Deok Goo in the romantic comedy series Into the Ring after landing a number of supporting roles in films during the late 2010s. In the well-known Korean criminal drama The Devil Judge, he also played Park Du Man on a regular basis. Seo-hwan most recently made an appearance in an episode of the Netflix legal drama Extraordinary Attorney Woo and the critically praised Apple TV+ period drama Pachinko. In The Tale of Lady Ok, he most recently portrayed Kim Nak-soo.

Character: Despite not having a name in season 1, Gi-hun's close friend and gambling partner, Jung-bae, was introduced in the first two episodes. Jung-bae presently takes part in Squid Game season 2 games. Aside from that,

As the Salesman, Gong Yoo

Gong Ji-Chul, also known as Gong Yoo, is an actor who was born in Busan, Korea. His performances in K-dramas and movies including Train to Busan (2016), Silenced (2011), Goblin (2016), and The Age of Shadows (2016) have earned him the most recognition. The mystery drama television series School was Yoo's debut acting role. Before making a comeback to television in 2005 with Hello My Teacher and 2007 with the highly regarded The 1st Shop of Coffee Prince, he made his feature picture debut in 2003 with My Tutor Friend. Yoo most recently starred in the sci-fi movie Wonderland and the Netflix series The Trunk and the Silent Sea.

Character: In season 1, Gi-hun and hundreds of other people were first welcomed to the Squid Game by the salesman, the recruiter in the gray suit. In season two, he is assigned the same assignment and challenges a game of ddakji to random individuals who seem to be in financial hardship.
