Shadow In Sonic Racing Animation
My favorite Hedgehog doing his thing!

I will be discussing the trailer for Sonic Racing Cross Worlds, so spoilers ahead. The idea of Shadow beating Sonic in the racing game was a great idea. I know the game is named after the protagonist, and Sonic is known as the fastest thing alive. But the fact that Shadow won makes perfect sense. Because, if you recall, in both the film and video game, Shadow always has his own way of getting from place to place, either by running thanks to his air shoes or a motorcycle, also known as the Dark Rider, or in this case, a custom-made racing car. Shadow has some disadvantages in speed because, according to gaming lore, Shadow is a genetically engineered bio-merge hedgehog, thanks to the engineering of Dr. Eggman (also known as Gerold Robotnik) and the DNA of Black Doom, who is Shadow's biological father. Talk about an awkward Father's Day. However, Shadow has to limit his energy, unlike Sonic, who has unlimited energy, and Sonic was born alive. Shadow was not, in fact, he doesn't even have a mom, unless you count a test tube, which sounds messed up.
If you watch the video of the racing game, Shadow acts as if he merges with the car, as if he has to put a piece of himself into the machine, and the machine does the same.

He tries to give himself a 360 view of his whereabouts he does this by using all his senses from his eyes to his ears to probably even his sense of touch such as the vibration the car is giving, which is why he's constantly shifting gears, pulling the emergency brake on the car as well as the gadgets inside the vehicle, to get one spot to another. He could have used his special ability, called Chaos Control. Still, he chose not to instead he decided to use the car, while the other drivers try to protect the vehicles they are driving almost like it's a valuable accessory; Shadow uses it as an extension of his body kind like the same way a human does with hair and nails even if we lose our nails or hair we sometimes can grow them back or in Shadows case he's able to repair the car, which is why he uses it to get banged up and uses it as a catapult to beat sonic again this is just my opinion check out the video. It is amazing.
The animation is just as amazing as the trailer itself. The type of style used was a cinematic 3D style with a distant 2D art style. The video was shot at Studio Giggex LLC and directed by Kevin Molina-Ortiz. This is the same director who did the animation for Sonic X Shadow Generations: Dark Beginning. Of course, he had some help from Director Christopher Luc. Seriously, check out the video.
Let's not get sidetracked; let's get back to Sonic racing: Cross Worlds. I love the idea of it starting with Shadow the Hedgehog. We see him entering a facility that looks high-tech, and he is assembling a race car.

Shadow is touching the holographic screens to customize the vehicle he is entering in the competitive racing game.

When the car was completed, I thought, at first, that Shadow was going to use Chaos Control to teleport into the car, but no, he jumped with confidence and started the car.
The car reminds me of the Fast and Furious film series, especially when we see the other characters' vehicles. The design aligns with the character's design and personality. From the car's front and back, the tires, the interior design, and even the gadgets that help the player get through the race.

Everyone, except the Babylon Rogues' Jet, Storm, and Wave, who were using hoverboards. They were typical, as they used that for agility and getting around the other players.

The game is a lot like Mario Kart; you have to hit other players out of the way to be first, and you do this by collecting items to assist you, which are called Item Boxes. When a player drives through an Item Box, it provides them with a random item to use in the race.

I remember seeing Jet the Hank use 3-punch rockets. Yes, just as it sounds, it's a rocket with a punching glove that does some damage. Anyway, Jet hovers in the air and shoots them at the other opponents. Shadow dodges them and makes the Babylon Rogues regret their choice in using hoverboards instead of a car.

Because Shadow uses the car to smack them around like a bunch of rag dolls. I love the shots of Shadow using his wits, shifting gears, and calculating when to go fast.
