The schedules for San Diego Comic Con are now being released and my little nerd heart is very happy. There is going to be a lot going on all weekend but Friday will probably be my busiest day work wise. I already have some interviews lined up. Figuring out the schedule for the weekend is leading to some really tough choices. I am simply too nerdy for my own good and it is taking just so much effort to choose what I want to do. All that said, let’s get into my very tentative and hopeful schedule for Friday at SDCC.
I am desperately hoping to start my day out in Hall H for both The Boys and the Rings of Power panels. I am at this point relying on press invitations because I will be covering the Her Universe fashion show at the time that they are giving out wristbands. Back up plan is that someone holds a spot in line for me and I can grab a wristband after the show is over. Those two panels would take me from 10:00AM to Noon.
After that I will be headed to the hotel across the street for an Amazon Animation panel, creatives from Invincible, Habizan Hotel and Vox Machina will be speaking. I am very lucky and grateful for my job because right after the panel I also get to talk to the creatives as I will have time with them in the press room. This will take me from 1:00PM to 3:00PM.
Then we leave ourselves time to wait in some really long lines. I will (hopefully) be getting into a Marvel Comics panel at 4:15…that does only leave me about an hour so we will see if I get in.
I am giving myself plenty of time for Water, Earth, Fire, Air: A Look into the World of Avatar panel. This was something that was on the schedule last year but neither my father nor I could get in. It starts at 7:30PM and either I make it to the Marvel Comics panel and get in line for this at 5:30ish, or I don’t make it into the Marvel Comics panel and I get in line for this at around 4:30…either way I think that my odds for getting into this one are pretty good.
And last but not least I will (again hopefully) be closing out my night with an advance screening of the next episode of House of the Dragon, yes that’s right we will be getting it two days early. The screening starts at 10:30PM, I am hoping that I will make it in, but honestly this is one that if I don’t get into the hall I would be super bummed about. 2 days is nice. The only reason I would want to get in early is for the possible cast appearances and free stuff that tends to come with comic con screenings.
Friday is a much busier day and frankly it's the biggest Hall H day for me personally. Of the 3 or 4 major rooms I don’t think I have anything big on Saturday because everything that I love is on Friday. I am hoping that credentials will get me into some of this, it is going to be so much bigger than last year. I am already bracing myself for an overcrowded space and the possibility of not getting to do everything that I want to. San Diego Comic Con is one of the biggest conventions in the world and I’m honestly just lucky to go.
