Sad Truth about Why Lilian Bach Stopped Acting
What happened to the beloved actress.

What happened to the beloved actress.
If you were alive and watching Nollywood around the early 90s and 2000s, then the name Lilian Bach shouldn't come as a surprise to you.
Personally, she was one of my favorite actresses of that time. I thought she had the sweetest smile, and I found her really beautiful. She just also reminded me of a lot of the aunties and women I grew up around: warm, good looking, and full of ajebo spirit.
Lilian Bach was popular for being the girl in the movie that every man wanted to have. But, to have her, you would have to go through the rigors of dealing with her wicked mother, Patience Ozokwor. And then when you finally get her, you realize that she cannot cook or clean. She is just an ajebutter that was born to enjoy this life and not to stress.

Lilian Bach was always a delight to have on our screens, but then as the years started rolling by and names like Ini Edo, Rita Dominic, Uche Jombo, actresses that were around with her kept on acting in movies, Lilian suddenly and quietly left the scene.
What happened to the beloved actress? Lilian has finally revealed it all.
Are you ready to find out why Lilian Bach stopped acting? Then let's go!

Fun game while you read: Throughout this article, I'll be scattering Lilian Bach movie posters? How many of these Lilian Bach movies do you remember? Do any of these names ring a bell?

In an interview with Saturday Beats, Lilian Bach said about her reason to quit Nollywood:
I purposely took a break from doing movies. I became a producer and I wanted to be doing my own movies but piracy couldn’t allow me. In Nollywood, experience is actually the best teacher; nobody really tells you the truth. You have to go through the experience to find out what others are suffering from. We cannot continue to ignore the fact that piracy has been trying to bring the industry down. That was why I took a break. I couldn’t continue producing movies without recouping my money. It is not a good thing
Ahhh! I see. She started producing movies of her own but because of the piracy, she wasn't seeing cash for it. Okayyy. She went on:
You don’t even see the super stars in movies anymore because producers now try to cut cost because they are not guaranteed that they would get their money back. By the time you pay the stars and settle other bills in making the movie, you wouldn’t know what would come back to you as your returns. When you release the movie on DVD or even before you do that, it is already pirated

We need a lasting solution to this problem, otherwise there will no longer be Nollywood because we are really going down. We are hoping the new government will have the time and come out with a stricter punishment to those who do the act
Well, I think the days of DVD production and such are heavily behind us. I hope Lilian can consider producing movies for streaming platforms like IrokoTV or Netflix. It seems that's what a lot of the filmmakers are doing these days.
Either way, I miss Lilian Bach and it's so sad that it is piracy that sent her out of Nollywood.
We miss you Lilian Bach!!
