Prison life seems to be taking a toll on Sean "Diddy" Combs
The trial is only three weeks away and the music mogul maintains his innocense.

Diddy is housed in a unit for high-profile inmates
Sean Diddy Combs is housed in the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York, in 4 North. His new normal is a far cry from the life he was used to and is said to be taking a toll on the rapper.
This fourth-floor dormitory-style unit is home to around 20 male inmates, and is where some of the most high-profile criminals are being held. Unfortunately, they no longer live high-profile lives.
A decreased lifestyle
Hair dye is not allowed, so 55-year-old Combs now has gray in his hair and beard. Phone calls are stopped after 15 minutes, and visitors can only come once a week, on Tuesday. According to the New York Post, Diddy has gone from making million-dollar deals to using $1.00 cans of tuna as currency.
The New York Times revealed that the music mogul who was once responsible for some of the biggest hits of the 1990s and 2000s had been reduced to using $1.00 packets of mackerel known as "macks," from the detention center commissary as a form of currency.
A former inmate gives a different spin on things
Gene Borello, a former MDC inmate, told the NYT that those housed at MDC can move freely around the unit, which has bunk beds, TVs, a microwave, and a gym. He added.
"You have nothing to worry about," the Mafioso-turned-informant said. Inmates can generally move freely around the unit, which has bunk beds, TVs, a microwave, and a gym.
Borello also revealed to the Times that the unit is lenient. Correction officers oversee multiple compulsory daily check-ins with inmates. He said the bathrooms had stalls, and the prisoners ate meals in the common area.
A once limitless life now has limitations
There is no internet access, but those in 4 North can watch movies or listen to music on tablets that can be purchased at the commissary. Diddy had a laptop without WiFi to review the evidence prosecutors turned over before his trial started on May 12.
However, that laptop can only be used between 8 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. These restrictions on a man who has lived life with no limits for so long must be challenging to adjust to.
Is prison life taking a toll on Sean Combs?
Being incarcerated is difficult for anyone and probably even more so for the rich and famous who are used to calling the shots. The question is, how is Sean Combs adjusting to the life he has lived since September 16, 2024? He has been behind bars for seven months, and his trial begins in over three weeks.
There have been stories that Diddy is doing well and others suggesting depression, anxiety, withdrawals, and weight loss. What appears to be the most telling is his latest prison characature, where he looks weary. Combs has lost weight, his face shows signs of strain, and his hair and beard are almost completely gray.
Sean Combs's saga is just beginning
It seems like a plifetime since December 2023 when the saga of Sean Combs first began. In a little over three weeks the rapper's trial will begin. There are hundreds of acusations against him and he is denying them all. His lawyers claim any and all sex was only with consenting adults even though there are allegations of minors being abused.
No one knows how long the trial will last, or if it will be televised. One thing that is clear is that this trial will be the beginning of the rest of Diddy's life for him and his accusers, one way or another.
