Parry Shen exits General Hospital again, but he always lands on his feet
Brad Cooper's portrayer knows how to keep busy in between stints in Port Charles

Brad has left Port Charles behind
Parry Shen has wrapped up his latest stint as Brad Cooper, the character some fans love to hate, on General Hospital. Brad has rubbed many people the wrong way and gotten into much trouble. In recent months, however, he managed to steer clear of Michael Corinthos's (Chad Duell) family members, who enjoyed reminding him of the baby switch.
His last episodes revolved around doing his boss's bidding, and now he is done. Brad said a few goodbyes, gave his resignation to Dr. Portia Robinson (Brooke Kerr), and left Port Charles.
PC life did not go his way
Brad was heartbroken that things did not work out with Lucas Jones (Van Hansis) and could not keep working under Portia's growing demands. Fans are hoping he will drop in again, but with a million dollars in his pocket, we might not see Brad at least for a while.
Shen began portraying the lab tech in 2013 and has come and gone several times. He has abused his lab privileges with embryo switches and other nefarious choices so no one trusts him.

Parry Shen has many side jobs
Shen was born in China on June 26, 1973, and speaks Cantonese. The soap vet stays pretty busy in between his visits to Port Charles. In addition to acting, he is a producer, voice actor, author, and screenwriter.
Shen is Managing Editor of Secret Identities: The Asian American Superhero Anthology, published by The New Press in April 2009. Its sequel, Shattered: The Asian American Comics Anthology, was published in November 2012. Shen has written and produced the feature film entitled Unidentified (2013)
Television, film, and voice work
His first film was Starship Troopers in 1997, and over the decades, he has appeared in many more, including Deviants, Better Luck Tomorrow, The New Guy, and First Daughter.
His last movie listed was Automation in 2019. His voice work includes Disney's Doc McStuffin, and the video games Sleeping Dogs, Wet, Mortal Kombat I, and Mortal Kombat X. In 1997, his television career began with Caroline in the City and Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
He also appeared in Cousin Skeeter, Party of Five, Suddenly Susan, and many more. His last role outside of General Hospital was voicing a character in Secret Level in 2024.
Shen has been married to his wife, Kim, since 2002, and they have two daughters. He speaks at universities, sharing his experience as an Asian in the media industry.

Was there ever hope for Brad to change?
General Hospital fans hoped Brad had turned his life around after he was allowed to work at GH again. Sadly, his old ways returned, and he gave Selina Wu (Lydia Look) blackmail ammunition on Portia.
Selina gave the info to Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison), who began blackmailing Dr. Robinson, who is new to this backstabbing world. She has no idea Brad turned the tables on her and ratted her out to Dre about the ketamine. Some fans say the lab tech was destined never to change.
Bon Voyage Brad
Now, Mr. Cooper is off to live his best life, so this goodbye might be for good. Will he go away to some Island paradise and live happily ever after? Some General Hospital fans don't think so. Brad might run through his money and return to Port Charles, groveling for his job.
Portia clarified that he would get no more chances, so he might end up working for Aunt Selina after all. Be on the lookout for what Parry Shen's next project is and keep watching the action in Port Charles on General Hospital to learn Drew and Portia's fates.
