"Beyond the Gates" Weeks 45 & 46 Recap
The last two weeks of the CBS soap included a special look behind the scenes of the show

I did mention this in the last recap, but it is hard to believe that Beyond the Gates is closing in on celebrating one year on CBS. It seemed like yesterday that the very first episode aired. It seemed like yesterday that I actually watched a full episode of a soap for the first time in my entire life. But in actuality, it was just over 11 months ago. Very amazing. Beyond the Gates continues to excel, to excite, and to impress in just under a year's time.
The last two weeks saw some amazing developments regarding certain relationships; secrets were coming out, and we received a deep dive into this amazing show! So let's take a dive:
Week 45 (January 12 - January 16)

This, to me, was the main highlight of Week 45; taken from the January 12 episode, the overdue discussion between Ted and Carlton. They've known each other for a long time, but as we recall, Ted didn't take the news of Carlton's new relationship with Nicole too well. In this edition, we see that these two have buried the hatchet, and not in each other's heads, and it includes Ted giving Carlton helpful advice regarding Nicole. I can't help but beam over seeing Robert Christopher Riley as Carlton, and that's mainly because Riley previously participated in the CW's short-lived Dynasty reboot, which also featured Grant Show and Elizabeth Gillies.
Inside Fairmont Crest

On January 19, 2026, MLK Day Monday, CBS aired a special episode of Beyond the Gates titled, "Inside Fairmont Crest." The episode was a deep dive into the various storylines that have hit the show since the February 2025 premiere. Clifton Davis (Vernon Dupree) and Tamara Tunie (Anita Dupree) co-hosted the special, and we saw so many of the show's cast; including (but not limited to), Daphnee Duplaix (Nicole Dupree-Richardson), Karla Mosley (Dani Dupree), Arielle Prepetit (Naomi Hamilton-Hawthorne), RhonniRose Mantilla (Chelsea Hamilton), Timon Kyle Durrett (Bill Hamilton), Keith D. Robinson (Ted Richardson), Brandon Clayborn (Martin Richardson), and Colby Natasha Nixon (Kat Richardson), among many others.
I loved that special episode, because it was amazing seeing so much of the cast. Speaking of the cast, I also love that BTG was a platform for so many actors to become known. As far as the established cast, it was only Davis, Tunie, Duplaix, and Mosley. The rest of the cast consisted of either up-and-comers, or those who were just starting. And trust me, they will get more credits after this. A lot of big names seemed to get their ultimate start in soaps.
Week 46 (January 20 - January 23)

The normal episdoes from Week 46 started that following day, January 20, and it ended with a surprise revelation from Naomi: she has the BRCA gene. Even crazier, she kept it to herself. My goodness. So Naomi had been lying to everyone, including Jacob, for weeks, and the January 23 episode revealed Naomi's deception. Ashley called her out for this, and here's the sad part: Ashley has a point! If Ashley starts making sense, you clearly fucked up. Naomi needs to make this right, and fast!

What an amazing last two weeks from Beyond the Gates, indeed! I said it many times before, and I'll say it again: the soap genre needed this. Badly. I am so happy that Beyond the Gates is part of the soap opera genre, and I am very amped to see what this amazing show will give us, especially as the red-hot series is closing in on celebrating their first anniversary. That will be a big celebration for sure!
