On 'General Hospital' Austin might be a Quartermaine
The doctor's interest in ELQ has viewers thinking he might be the son of Edward's illegitimate son Jimmy Lee Holt.

In the good old days of GENERAL HOSPITAL, there was always an interloper or a stray Quartermaine lurking around trying to get their hands on ELQ stock. Recently outsider Valentin Cassadine weaseled his way into becoming the CEO of the family business and now there may be a threat from yet another who has Q blood running in his veins. "Austin" was in the woods in Pawtauk and delivered Maxie's baby and has now made his way to Port Charles and seems very absorbed in the Q's.
He seemed especially interested in Michael, the ELQ stock, and the next board meeting. He also hired Scott Baldwin who seems eager to take the case but viewers are still not certain what this is about. Those who enjoyed GENERAL HOSPITAL in the 1980s believe they picked up some clues with "Austin" with no last name said he came from Pawtauk. This is where Edward Quartermaine's son Jimmy Lee Holt moved years ago. Some GENERAL HOSPITAL viewers believe that Austin's last name might be Holt or even Quartermaine.
The Quartermaine family showed up in Port Charles in 1977 when Dr. Steve Hardy sent for Alan to help out at GENERAL HOSPITAL. Edward, Lila, and Traci soon followed and they have been a staple on the ABC show ever since. Jimmy Lee Holt arrived in town in 1983 and was portrayed by Steve Bond. His mother Beatrice LeSeur arrived in 1984 announcing that Jimmy Lee was Edward's bastard son and Jimmy Lee left for Pawtaul in 1986.
Steve Bond who portrayed Jimmy Lee is 68 years old and Roger Howarth,(Austin) is 52 which is only a 16 year difference. Any children that Jimmy Lee had would probably be in their 30's and no older than 40 but on the soaps anything is possible. Austin being a doctor raises eyebrows and has viewers thinking perhaps he might be a son of Alan Quartermaine whose portrayer Stuart Damon recently passed at age 84. Edward also had a son Bradley with Mary Mae Ward but he was killed in service. Any descendants of Bradley would be African American and also much younger than "No last name Austin."
The fact that Austin is withholding his last name, and hired Scott who was grilling Michael about ELQ recently has GENERAL HOSPITAL viewers wondering what is really going on. If the doctor really is a member of the Q clan then he might be in ownership of some of the stock. There might be the ususal tie-breaking vote that is needed which usually takes ELQ out of the hands of the Quartermaines. Both Brook Lynn and Lucy Coe voted against the Q's which caused major problems.

Will Austin show up at the board meeting and announce his true identity and will he vote for Valentin or Michael as new CEO of ELQ? Could Brook Lynn's plan to regain the company for her family have hit a snag and is GENERAL HOSPITAL going to revisit the days of the battles and infighting between Edward Quartermaine's family members. Austin seems well off and owns property but if he is one of the Q clan he might decide to take up residence in the family mansion.
This storyline is intriguing and could go in any direction and spoilers have already suggested that Austin might fall for Maxie or even Ava. Some GENERAL HOSPITAL viewers are saying they cannot see the son of Jimmy Lee Holt becoming a doctor. Others are suggesting that perhaps Susan Moore had triplets and Austin is the brother of Jason and Drew. Cameron Matthison will be a part of the GH cast as Andrew Cain so all of this could be connected or maybe not so stay tuned.
