Nami Hid Her Pregnancy from Luffy – Until It Was Too Late | One Piece

tv - anime

By RuzlatPublished 6 months ago 3 min read

Nami knew. Every day. Every night. Every time the wind wiped her face and reminded her of the sea he once ruled together.

Luffy had the right to know he would be a father. But she waited. She was waiting for too long.

And at the time she whispered words in his ear, he was already dying.

Why were she silent

Nami did not hold the mystery of fear.

It wasn't that she didn't trust Luffy - she believed him more than anyone. It was a world she didn't trust. The chaos they were sinking. The last war. Enemies that surrounded them on all sides. The way Luffy pushed around each limit.

He already carried the weight of the crew, a dream and hope in the world.

Nami didn't want to add one more thing to his shoulders.

She thought she would tell him after the battle.

After they won.

After they were safe.

But security never came.

The war that has changed everything

Luffy fought like a storm.

Gear 5 stretched his body for what it could take. His laughter still rang out loud, but this time it felt different about it. Tired. Like he knew.

The crew held together. The enemy fell. The sea calmed down.

And then ... Luffy dropped.

He stood at one moment. Another, he was on his knees, his eyes were losing focus, a smile on his face.

The crew threw himself at him, but Nami got there first.

She held her hand. She pushed her forehead to him.

And then she said.

"You'll be the Father"

The words broke in her throat. She didn't plan how to say. She didn't expect her voice to shake. But she said, through tears, shaking hands.

Luffy's breathing was shallow.

But when he heard her, something turned on it.

Not to panic.

Not pain.

Just ... wonder.

He blinked, tried to speak, but his lips were trembling.

And then - he smiled.

Soft, peaceful smile. A smile that forgave her without saying a word.

There is no time left

She begged him to stay awake. To stick to. Wait just a little longer.

"We can raise him together," she whispered.

But Luffy just shook his head.

"No ... you're still going," he said, barely breath. "Make sure she is single."

That was the last words he had ever told her.

Not about the royal ship. Not about the treasure. Not even goodbye.

Only freedom.

He would never meet for a child.

Baby born in silence

He was born a few months later. In a quiet village. No pirate flags. No crew screamed with joy. Only the sound of the waves and Nami holds it alone in a small room.

He had Luffy's hair. Luffy's taste. And Luffy's eyes - bright, wild, always full of questions.

She named something simple. Something Luffy would laugh. Something that her heart hurt every time she said.

She told him stories. About a man who could stretch his hands and laugh at any storm. The man who smiled at the end.

But she didn't say his name.

Not yet.

The crew came and left

Zoro brought wooden swords. Sanji sent too much food. Robin wrote Lullabies. Chopper supplied the medicine. Usopp sent letters full of stories - some true, others not.

But no one stayed too long.

Everyone knew what they were carrying.

And everyone respected her silence.

Luffy was gone. But his piece - the most important piece - was still there, crawled, cried, smiled.

Silent

Nami never forgiven.

Not because it maintained a secret.

But because she thought it would be time.

She thought there would be one more dinner. One more sunrise. One more stupid argument about maps and food.

But he wasn't there.

Now, every time her son laughs, she smiles. But behind that is the shadow of what she never had:

Put your hand in Luffy.

Let them meet.

Let them love each other.
