My Review of "That Awkward Moment"
A good time to be had but ultimately a forgettable movie.

That Awkward Moment is a movie that came out back in 2014 with some growing stars behind it. They had Zac Efron, Michael B. Jordan and Miles Teller. It's sort of color by numbers movie but it's still enjoyable to watch. Then again today we have so much time to kill so that's not necessarily a bad thing.
The thing about this movie is that I had watched it back in the day and I totally forgot that I had watched it until halfway into the movie. That's really weird because I actually enjoyed this movie back in the day and I still enjoyed the movie this time around but it was so forgettable that I totally forgot. That's not a good thing for this review.
This movie is about three good friends in their 20's trying to figure out their lives in New York city. Well at least their romantic lives. I guess that's a pretty important part of all of our lives. I can see how this movie is relatable despite the fact that these characters have impossibly successful lives in their 20's.
There's the main character Jason, played by Zac Efron. He loves his routine of being able to sleep with multiple women any day of the week. It makes sense, he's a good looking successful young man in New York city. Every little while he will add a new woman to his black book because one of his harem of women in his black-book will finally wise up and dump him. The often think that they're in a relationship with him but he has absolutely no attachment to them. He only uses them as sex objects.
Then there's Mikey, played by Michael B. Jordan. Mikey is the most stable of the three friends as he's a doctor and married to the woman of his dreams. He kind of followed a checklist of things that he had to do at each stage of his life. The problem with him is that his wife had been cheating on him and wants to have a divorce. Of course, Mikey wants to make their marriage work out but his two friends try to tell him to move on to another woman.
Finally there's Daniel, played by Miles Teller. Daniel works with his female friend to help each other hook up with people. Little do they know they might have an attraction to each other. Daniel is pretty much the comic relief character throughout the movie.
When Mikey finally accepts that he's getting a divorce. His two friends make a pact with him to stay single together. As a movie about relationships obviously this isn't going to last. It's fairly predictable to know what's about to happen.
That's the issue though. It is entertaining to watch this movie but like I said earlier. I didn't even remember I had watched this movie a few years ago already but totally forgot. It's not really a memorable movie but if you're looking for something to watch it is a good time killer. The actors all do a good job to deliver the story and everything works.
Overall, I still enjoyed the movie after all these years but there really isn't much to say about this movie. It's like watching a brainless movie that you can just shut off and enjoy. It's not boring and it's not exciting. It's just ho hum okay. A great payday for the actors and easy watch for us viewers. I have to give this movie a 6.5 out of 10. I would have originally given this movie a higher score but when I realized I watched it before I had to dock it off half a point.
