My Review of "Peacemaker: The full season one"

This is one heck of an entertaining show. To think it's a spin-off from a movie is mind boggling.

Peacemaker: The full season one, just ended recently. I originally thought the first three episodes and wrote a review on those episodes. Fortunately for me there was a lot more show after those first three episodes. It goes all over the place and more importantly it was totally outrageous.

The first three episodes of the season is to introduce you to the main characters involved and what they're going after. We understand what everyone's motives were and that their goals aligned at eliminating the butterfly aliens that had come to inhabit the Earth. At least that's what I thought.

Each new episode we would learn new things about some of the side characters of the show. As things got revealed there were some oh my goodness twists that happened. Don't worry there are some consistent characters throughout the season. We can see their minds being blown every time there's some new revelation that's revealed to us as the audience.

Although this show is supposed to be centered around Peacemaker we soon discover that this is actually a team story than anything. They all can't seem to get along with one another yet they find a way. It's interesting how they can make even the worst characters somewhat likeable in this show. Well of course there is one specific exception to this and those that have seen this season will know who I'm talking about.

I like how they were able to slowly reveal more and more about our main characters throughout the season. It was to the point that I became very invested in all of the characters despite how goofy or idiotic they were. There were even times where I would have empathy for certain villains in the show.

The whole cast does a great job in keeping up with the drama as well as the comedy. There seems to be a nice fifty-fifty balance of serious and wackiness throughout this season. It's actually quite consistent to The Suicide Squad movie that it's an off shoot from. I loved that movie and I'm glad that the makers of that movie were directly involved with this series. At least we'll see some consistency and good continuity between the show and the movie.

In terms of production of this show, it is definitely a high budget show. It looks just as high in quality as its movie predecessor. We also have a few star cameo appearances. Like I mentioned before in my previous review. This show feels like an episodic movie. The quality and content are there but this just so happens to have a lot more content.

Surprisingly the season ended with a very neat and tidy bow. Everything is kind of cleaned up with a few exceptions. I'm not sure what the future has for this series but I'm hoping they will be able to keep the show going and perhaps relate it to future DC movies and shows. Well the only exception is with the CW DC universe. This show definitely will not mesh well with those shows but now with everything going multi-dimensional who knows what's going to happen.

Overall, I think this show is probably one of the best shows I've seen on TV so far. We're still early in the year and this show has blown away all of my wildest expectations for it. It can be a bit violent and goofy for some people but it really fit my personality and sense of humor. I have to give this full season of Peacemaker a 9 out of 10. This is a show that I've already been recommending to my friends and now that it's over I will continue to be showing it praises.
