My Guilty Binge-Watch Show: MTV's 'Teen Wolf'
Team Stydia all the way!

So, we've all seen those TikToks that are like "show me your comfort food" or "show me your comfort film". They're funny and relatable, and you really get to know a person by seeing what their comfort items of choice are.
With that being said, whenever anyone asks me what my comfort tv show is - on that I could endlessly binge-watch without a second thought - I have to be honest and say MTV's Teen Wolf.
When I first watched the show when I was fourteen, I would have said it is the best show on Earth. I instantly fell in love with Dylan O'brien (because, hey, who didn't?) and I was completely hooked.

It's now seven years after I first watched the show and I'd still say I'm in love with Dylan O'brien, but I definitely keep that on the down-low now that I'm an adult with an actual boyfriend instead of a fictional one. I can't help it but, what was once a teenage obsession is now a guilty pleasure to re-watch whenever I feel like it.
Back in the day, my obsession even went as far as having an Instagram fandom account and writing fanfiction on Wattpad. Just to embarrass myself, here's an example of some of the edits I used to make on Instagram.

And although I look back on these times with fond memories, even I cannot deny how unbelievably cringe worthy this is!
Despite the cringe-worthiness of it all, my obsession with Teen Wolf when I was younger still lives inside of me to this day. I reckon if you sat me down and made me re-watch season one right now, I'd be able to recite the entire season with my eyes closed. My boyfriend - who is actually re-watching the series with me at the moment - thinks it's truly embarrassing, but it's my guilt pleasure not his, so he can shhh!
I always end up re-watching season one because it is so nostalgic. It reminds me of watching it for the first time, when i wasn't an adult and it was totally okay to binge watch two seasons in a two days instead of worrying about taxes or laundry.
Not only that, but Teen Wolf is my favourite guilty pleasure and comfort show because once upon a time in my life it was so damn important, and got me out of a lot of unhappy times in my teen years.
My old camera roll is FULL of old Teen Wolf screencaps, or Teen Wolf memes and behind-the-scenes stuff, so here's just a few to give you an insight to how much I really do love this show.

This video below used to be one of my favourite video edits!
Moving forward from the huge collection of Teen Wolf content I still have from a few years ago, I saw a TikTok by @ediblesrex, which is linked below, that said:
"If I had known the content I was consuming by ages twelve to seventeen were going to be that viscerally impactful to me this late in my life I would have chosen my bullsh*t so much more carefully...do you know how embarrassing it is that when people are like 'what was your Tumblr fandom of choice', I have to be like 'MTV's Teen Wolf'".
And I think that sums it up perfectly.
I never realised that something I watched in my teens would still be something I find comforting in my twenties. Part of me thinks, "God this is embarrassing, it's definitely a guilty pleasure" while the other half tells that half to shut up and accept that I still love the damn show.
But, you know what the crazy thing is? The first time I watched the entire Teen Wolf series, I watched it with my dad. And he loved it as much as I did. So, a real actual thought that crosses my mind when I'm re-watching/binge-watching is: "I want to watch this with my kids one day".
AND THAT IS CRAZY TO ME.
I will forever come back to MTV's Teen Wolf and I can't help myself. It is a guilty pleasure and I love binge-watching it to the point that I have lost track of how many times I've seen it. Every single new person that has come into my life since I first watched it either 1. knows so much about Teen Wolf because I talk about it so much that they've basically seen it or 2. I have made them watch it.
I can't just be normal and like a show like normal people do...I have to obsess over it apparently. So, to finish off this article, here's one last screencap from a scene I love so much...

Oh and by the way, if you live in the UK, Teen Wolf is currently streaming on Netflix!
