Denise Alexander had a stellar career
The world of daytime television is mourning the death of Soap opera veteran Denise Alexander, who had a stellar career. She was best known for portraying Lesley Webber on "General Hospital" and Susan Hunter Martin on "Days of Our Lives." She passed away on March 5, and her death has just been revealed. GH executive producer Frank Valentini said the following on social media.
"It meant so much to have her reprise her role in recent years and I am honored to have had the opportunity to work with her. On behalf of the entire General Hospital family, I extend my heartfelt sympathies to her family, friends, and longtime fans. May she rest in peace."
Franl Valentini also stated.
"I am so very sorry to hear of Denise Alexander's passing. She broke barriers on-screen and off, portraying Dr. Lesley Webber – one of the first female doctors on Daytime Television – for nearly five decades,

Susan Hunter Martin
On Days of Our Lives, Alexander portrayed Susan Hunter, the best friend of Julie Olson Williams. (Susan Seafort Hayes) She married David Martin after discovering she was pregnant with their child. The couple was going to give the baby up for adoption, but when the baby was born, Susan changed her mind.
She named her son Richard "Dickie" Martin and when David wanted to leave her Susan's parents, Richard and Diane, pressured him to remain in the marriage. Alexander left her DOOL role in 1973 to join the General Hospital cast. She also appeared in the soaps Another World as Mary McKinnon (1986-90 and 1991 and as Sister Beatrice for 17 episodes of Sunset Beach from 1997-1998.

The General Hospital years and other shows
On GH, Leslie was married to Rick Webber (Chris Robinson), who had a longtime affair with Monica Quartermane (Leslie Charleson). Rick and Leslie's daughter is Laura Collins (Genie Francis). Alexander was on contract on GH from 1973–1984, She dropped to recurring status from (1996–2009, 2013), She guest-starred from (2017, 2019, and 2021).
Alexander began her career in the early 1950s on Broadway in "The Children's Hour." Her feature movie debut was at age fourteen in the Don Siegel film Crime in the Streets starring John Cassavetes. In 1962, in the first season of the TV western The Virginian, she appeared as Mildred Kroeger in the episode "Impasse."
She guest starred in television shows like "Father Knows Best," "The Twilight Zone" and "The Danny Kaye Show." In 1960 joined the cast of the CBS soap, "The Clear Horizon." Fans may also recognize her in reruns of series like The Detectives, Seahunt, Ben Jarod and The Many Loves of Doby Gillis.

Denise Alexander's personal life
She was born in New York on November 8, 1939 and 85 at the time of her death. Her husband, Richard Colla, was a director and actor who appeared on Days of Our Lives. He passed away in 2021 at 85. There is no record of their having children, and it is assumed they were married until his death.
Alexander's father, Alec Alexander, was an agent who handled popular actors like Frank Gorshin and Sal Mineo. When Alec moved from the East to the West Coast, Denise began appearing on television and radio when she was a junior at UCLA.
The last credited role of this talented actor outside of General Hospital was as Lola in The Inn in 2013. Denise Alexander had a career that spanned seven decades from the 1950s through 2021 and that's impressive. Condolences to her family, friends, and soap fans. It is not known ast thsi time if GH will have any type o tribute episode.
