Was Seth MacFarlane Profiting From Other People's Pain?
The recent sexual harassment scandals that have plagued Hollywood have come not so much as a shock, but as a disappointment to many. It all began with the revelations about Harvey Weinstein, as a growing list of women came forward to tell their stories of the abuses they had suffered at his hands. Then came Star Trek: Discovery actor, Anthony Rapp, who revealed that Kevin Spacey had sexually harassed him when he was 14 years-old at a party. Spacey released a bizarre apology that ultimately ended up doing more harm than good to the actor's already shattered reputation, which sought to distract attention away from the story of his victim, and made it about his own sexuality. Now most recently come the stories about Director Brett Ratner, accused by a string of women of varying degrees of sexual harassment. Ratner denies the allegations outright, but all these people have one thing in common: their sexually predatory nature was joked about in different forms many years before the revelations have become public.

Anime fans are a very unique group of people, primarily because their interests go beyond anime and branch out into Japanese culture, J-pop, and of course, cosplay. They're quirky, smart, and cool in their own way—and that's why we love them.

Why is Kevin Spacey More Condemned Than Others?
I am pissed at Kevin Spacey. It's true that I've never been a massive fan of his, though American Beauty stands up to the test of time. House of Cards helped launch Netflix into the original programming arena and earned him multiple Emmy nominations. Even the allegations that Anthony Rapp leveled at Spacey can take that away. That story that Rapp told about Spacey coming on to him is why I have such vehement anger at the Oscar winner. But a friend asked me a question that needs to be examined: Why is Kevin Spacey getting the wrong end of publicity surrounding sexual abuse and sexual harassment that has engulfed Hollywood over the last month?

MCM Comic Con London 2017
So last weekend, I attended MCM Comicon at the Excel centre in London and of course, it was spectacular! It was a geek's dream! It just gets bigger and bigger every year, which is amazing. This year, Marvel was the biggest hit of the con; covering about 30–40 percent of the centre. There were statues such as Iron Man, the Hulk, Spiderman, Groot, and much more! I never really checked out the statues as much because I was too busy at the food stalls! There were also stalls with mystery boxes, shirts, hoodies, keychains, and anything nerdy you can think of. My guilty pleasure was Funko Pops. They're collectable pops that come in various different genres such as movies, TV shows, anime, and video games. I currently own all of the overwatch pops thanks to Forbidden Planet at Comic Con. You should go check them out! They're full of geeky things!

Classic Movie Review: 'Less than Zero'
I am rather obsessed with the title Less than Zero. I can’t seem to figure out exactly what it signifies. I know that the title of the 1987 movie comes from the title of Elvis Costello’s debut single of the same title but neither the movie or the book by Bret Easton Ellis has anything to do with the song. The song isn’t even included in the movie or on its bestselling soundtrack record. Costello gives few contextual clues as to what he means when he says Less than Zero and thus the title remains mysterious and elusive. It exists in the realm of sounding ‘cool.’

Understanding a Scene: 'Batman v Superman'
In 2016, Zack Snyder released Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (BVS), a follow-up to his 2013 Superman film, Man of Steel.BVS expanded the DC Extended Universe (DCEU), not only giving us a sequel to the Superman story that started in Man of Steel, but also introducing us to Snyder's reimagining of The Batman. To say the film has been divisive is an understatement. Some passionately love it, and others dislike the liberty that Snyder took with these characters. I personally love this film, I regard it as a cinematic masterpiece and feel more films should aspire to reach the level of depth, thematic, and visual storytelling Snyder was able to achieve. One scene stands out the most in the midst of all the criticism, the “Save Martha” sequence. Not only is that one of, if not the most pivotal scene in the film, it is also the turning point for both Batman and Superman and literally marks the Dawn of Justice.

'Raging Bull'
In 2012, the Motion Picture Editors Guild celebrated their 75th anniversary, and in honor of the event, released the Motion Picture Editors Guild’s list of 75 best-edited films of all time. At the very top of the list came Raging Bull, edited by Thelma Schoonmaker and directed by Martin Scorsese. What is it that makes the editing so impactful? To get down to the heart of it, we’ll take a detailed look into one of the scenes.

'In the Blink of an Eye'
“Why do cuts work?” is the main question in Walter Murch’s book In the Blink of an Eye, and it’s a very intriguing question. In the book, Murch explains how at first glance the way film is cut today just shouldn’t work. It’s simply not how we perceive things in everyday life, jumping around from place to place in a discontinuous way. So, how come the way we edit films actually works? His answer is equally intriguing.

The DCEU Has Failed
A couple of days ago, Henry Cavill, who you may know is the DC Extended Universe's Superman, agreed with a large block of fans that the DCEU has ultimately become a disappointment. In 2013, DC began its attempt to catch up to the monumental success of the Marvel Cinematic Universe when they released Man of Steel. Now to be clear from the beginning, I'm a fan of both Marvel and DC Comics. Both franchises have so much to offer geeks the world over, and I was initially excited to see DC kick start its own film universe. However, Man of Steel failed to ignite true excitement among DC fans for a movie universe, and while the film in and of itself was enjoyable, it was to be the beginning of a struggling project that would, in my view, ultimately fail.
