From Overwatch to Titans: Meet Evey Dantès, Cosplayer Extraordinaire
A lot of scary stuff comes from Australia. It's a country seemingly built for the sole purpose attempting to murder the people that have the stones to live there. It's not all doom and gloom though, cool stuff comes out of Australia, too. Did you know they invented the electronic pacemaker? That has nothing to do with this article, I just thought it was an interesting fact. Another awesome thing to come out of Australia is Evey Dantès aka Dantès Inferno. This twenty-four-year-old cosplayer/model has racked up 87k likes on her FB page so far and with good reason. She's very good at what she does. With that in mind, here are five of my favorite cosplays by Evey (in no particular order).

James Bond Director Dies Aged 93
“You can’t really change the formula, you can merely try to film it your way.” Guy Hamilton once said before his sad passing. Director of four James Bond movies including ‘Goldfinger’, Guy Hamilton has died at the age of 93. Guy was born in Paris and was then educated in England. His introduction to the Film Industry in France made him discover “how a studio worked the hard way”. Hamilton then left France behind him to enlist in the Royal Navy (by way of Paramount News). His films were mostly inspired by the military. His most financially successful film in the 1950s was ‘The Colditz Story’. His other major film ‘A Touch Of Larceny’ got him a sole BAFTA nomination.

I Took A Camera I Barely Knew How To Use to A Con And Here's What Happened
It's Dangerous to Go Alone, Better Take A Camera I haven't been to a convention in years. I used to go frequently, but that tapered off as life started to happen. I lost touch with a lot of the nerd things I loved doing because I always felt there were other, more important things to do. They were all dumb excuses so I decided not to listen to them. Instead, I decided to celebrate the fact that I jumped on a great team that pay me enough to feed my nerd habits by going to my first con since 2008 (holy crap it's been that long?). It was a whim so I didn't have anyone to go with, but I did have a shiny new camera that I have no idea how to use so I packed it up and was on my way. The con in question was The Los Angeles Cosplay Convention which was being held in Long Beach because of reasons and it was unexpectedly glorious for several reasons.

Sweet Cosplay You Got There LA Cosplay Con
I had the pleasure of attending The LA Cosplay Convention yesterday at the Long Beach Convention Center. It was a one day event filled with fun panels, great human beings, and some pretty amazing cosplay. I wanted to take a second to share a few favorites with you while I try to remember who everyone was. I met a lot of people. Also, there may have been some drinking.

Do you like Dorian Pavus? Of course, you do, everyone loves Dorian Pavus. According to the survey done by Dorian himself, he's the most well-liked character in the entire Inquisition. The accuracy of the survey might be questionable, though. Well, if you're a fan of the character then Parle Productions has something that will sate your need for more Dorian. They've recently released a video called "Dorian Time" where the man with the mustache himself talks through various topics like the goings on of the Inquisition, the finer points of Orlesian wine, and the most important topic of all, Dorian himself.

Is Will's Character Dynamic A Metaphor For The Upside Down In 'Stranger Things'?
If you thought Netflix's Stranger Things couldn't get any bigger, Season 2 just proved you wrong. Critically acclaimed and loved by fans, it arguably topped Season 1 and established itself as one of the best shows of 2017. Among the show's many stand-out qualities was the Duffer Brothers' fearless approach to refreshing the structure of Stranger Things. If we look deeper into this, there's more going on than simply reinventing the wheel. The Duffer Brothers effectively created a metaphor for the Upside Down when they inverted the Season 1 format for Will's character. By looking at this interlocking of concept and structure, we can better understand Will's character development, as well as gain insight as to what Stranger Things Season 3 might look like.

Take A Look At This Epic Grey Fox Cosplay
One thing I admire about cosplayers is the amount of work they're willing to put in for their costumes. Whether they're a beginner or a seasoned pro, you know that what they're wearing isn't just a costume but a culmination passion and maybe a few sleepless nights sprinkled in. Basically, they're a one person props and costume department which is why when I see really, really good cosplay I don't even dare imagine how much time it must have taken to get there. Self-proclaimed "wannabe artist" Diegator is one of those cosplayers that gave me pause the moment I saw his epic Grey Fox cosplay from Metal Gear Solid. Take a look.
