Episode 8 of 'Riverdale' Made Me Completely Reevaluate My Perspective on Hal Cooper with a Brilliant Revelation
WARNING: THIS ARTICLE CONTAINS MAJOR SPOILERS FOR EPISODE 8 OF RIVERDALE ENTITLED "THE OUTSIDERS" The aptly-titled episode name for this week's #Riverdale depicts the various outsiders that inhabit the titular town with pep. They range from the Serpents gang, who attempt to distance themselves from the Riverdale residents by wearing matching leather jackets, to a daughter returning from the outside world of the Sisters to the familial pressures of wealthy WASPs. I was a little disappointed Betty didn't pipe up during the baby shower with a "Stay Golden, Pollyboy" reference but I digress.

How Lemony Snicket's 'A Series of Unfortunate Events' Was Anything but Unfortunate for Me
Picture It: Toronto, 2002 or 2003 (The early 2000s are all jumbled together). Back in the day, the Lemony Snicket book series, #ASeriesOfUnfortunateEvents was one of my absolute favorite things to read. During my elementary school years (roughly Grades 2–5), we had a Book Club where we would spend our lunches with a delightful older woman who rocked some badass old lady glasses named Mrs. Slack. She would bring in some tuna in a container, lather that shit generously on her whole wheat crackers and gobble those tuna crackers down as she read to us the first novel of the series to — I suppose the third or fourth one was where we left off and I went to middle school (Grades 6–8).

Literary Villains Suited to Comic Books
This idea probably isn't entirely original, especially since by this point all new works have drawn some inspiration from elsewhere. Inspired by The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen but unlike that series, this list entertains the idea of placing literary characters inside existing comic book worlds—rather than exclusively featuring literary characters.

'Assassin's Creed' Is Not the Great Video-Game-To-Film-Adaptation We've Been Waiting For... (Review)
At least I cared about the characters in the 1995 #MortalKombat adaptation. I genuinely could not care less about anybody in Assassin's Creed and I'm not mad... I'm disappointed.

Time to Feel Old! Here Are 17 Film and Tv Shows Celebrating Anniversaries in 2017
Another year has come to an end and, as usual, we are faced with the realization that the works we loved when we were younger have been off the air for years — decades even. Nostalgia is an interesting concept because there are certain films you remember adoring when you were 8, so when you decide to revisit them in your 20s, you realize that they are genuinely terrible.

'The Substitute' Kicked Ass
1996 doesn’t really seem that long ago to me. I remember wearing Airwalks with baggy jeans, coming home from school to eat Raven’s Revenge and watching The Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers almost like it was yesterday. But a lot can happen in twenty years. If you were to go back in time and show somebody from the 90s The Avengers or Avatar, they would shit a brick. Our understanding of computers has severely grown, and with it, our ability to create realistic looking yet impossible scenarios within our films. Even though films known for their special effects in the 90s like Independence Day are still a marvel to watch, it’s nowhere near our capabilities now. So, how can a low budget action film from the late 90s hold up from today? Well, if the acting, directing and script are on point, pretty damn well.
