Kyle and Summer's relationship on The Young and the Restless is on the brink of disaster

Pandemonium continues in Genoa City

If you were left reeling after Tuesday's episode of The Young and the Restless and wondering what's next you are not alone. Fans across social media are saying the situation is getting bizarre and there is one question on everyone's minds. Is it possible that Kyle Abbott (Michaell Mealor) and Summer Abbott (Allison Lanier) can survive this latest challenge which tops everything they have been through?

The CBS soap has set up what appears to be a situation where "Skyle" may not make it because Summer is hiding a fundamental truth from her husband even though he was just brutally honest with her. Kyle came clean to his wife on Tuesday and told her what he knew about her mother being alive. Sadly Summer did not take the opportunity to do the same so the remarriage may not be able to survive.

Summer has been withholding the fact that she was the first to find out Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) is still alive and had murdered Jeremy Stark (James Hyde in self-defense. This will stun all involved when the facts are finally revealed and Summer might be in the doghouse where all the Abbotts are concerned.

Could this be the end for Skyle?

Summer told Daniel Romalatti (Michael Graziadei) the truth and he spilled the details to Kyle, Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc), and Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman). Jack decided to reveal the truth to Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) who is furious and Kyle told Summer because he was clueless that she already knew. Diane was also angry that Jack did not tell her first and she heard the news from their son but she forgave him and said she understood that he was trying to protect her.

Summer was shocked to learn the number of people who are now in the loop as she was initially supposed to be the only one who knew her mom was alive. The Young and the Restless spoilers say that on Wednesday that number will increase as Michael will tell Lauren Baldwin (Tracey E Bregman) and she will decide to locate her good friend on her own. Jack also told Christine Williams ((Lauralee Bell) who did not think the story credible without evidence but she shared the unbelievable tale with Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd).

Can Summer and Kyle survive this current situation?

Chris told Chance that perhaps a leak at the GCPD is how Jack knew about the knife used to stab Stark and he did not consider that the story about Phyllis could be true. The duo is not even considering seeking answers and this will eventually come back to bite them but in the meantime. Summer is a nervous wreck and she allowed her husband to think he was informing her of the latest update and never mentioned that she is the one who saw Phyllis and not Daniel.

There is no way this story will have a happy ending as Diane and Phyllis will now have a new level of contempt for one another which will only intensify and Skyle is caught in the middle. Kyle will feel betrayed when he finds out Daniel was protecting Summer who has been lying to him. The Abbott home is about to be filled with problems and there are no easy immediate solutions. Is there a way for Kyle and Summer to come back from this situation or will each of them side with their own mother and the distance increase between them?
