Karla Mosely to replace Mishael Morgan on ‘The Young and the Restless'

Fans of The Bold and the Beautiful were disappointed when Karla Mosley was written out of the show as Maya Avant Forrester. She was a beloved character who came to LA as transgender (from a man to a woman). Maya fell in love with and married Rick Forrester and later her sister Nicole was the surrogate for their daughter Lizzy. The couple moved to Paris but later, Maya and Lizzy returned to LA. and she announced that she and Rick were getting divorced.

Maya continued working at Forrester Creations and when Carter began showing up more in scenes, some fans thought perhaps they might get back together. When Ms. Avant first came to LA she and Carter Walton dated but she later chose Rick Forrester. When it was revealed that she had been born a man, Carter exploded and accused Maya of deceiving him. The couple did not reunite and Maya was only shown sporadically working at Forrester Creations. She never again had her own storyline and curious viewers began asking questions.

Eventually, Mosely announced on social media that she would not be returning to the CBS daytime drama. Her character Maya and daughter Lizzy disappeared with little fanfare. Karla Mosley's followers were really disappointed that she and her little girl are out there somewhere in oblivion. At one point the Avant family began to grow when Maya's sister Nicole and her parents Julius and Vivienne came to LA. Now the entire clan is gone and seemingly replaced as black cast members by Zoe and Paris Buckingham.

It is now being reported that Karla Mosley will temporarily step into the role of Amanda Sinclair on The Young and the Restless. Mishael Morgan who originated the character injured her eye is recovering from surgery and wearing a bandage. Amanda is currently involved in several key Y&R storylines. She and Devon have just decided to try to have a real relationship and fans of the couple are very excited. Ms. Sinclair is also investigating the death of her biological father in a car crash and the possibility that he was murdered. She is also trying to figure out his connection with Newman Enterprises.

Although Victor has assured the lawyer that he had no part in her father's death she believes someone in his organization may have been responsible. Victor advised Amanda to stop digging which only brings up more questions and has viewers wondering what he might be hiding. Karla Mosley is set to debut as Amanda on April 26 but there is no mention of when she will step out of the role and Mishael Morgan will return.

Karla Cheatem Mosley was born on August 27, 1981, and starred on the Emmy-nominated children's show Hi-5. She portrayed Christina Moore Boudreau in the soap opera Guiding Light who was married to Remy Boudreau, Remy was played by Lawrence St. Victor who is Carter Walton on The Bold and the Beautiful. In 2020 the actress had a role in the Hallmark movie, How to train your puppy/husband. Karla can be seen in television commercials for Abreva and Riders by Lee.

Mosley was also in several episodes of Hart of Dixie and one of Battlecreek and appeared as a model on The Price is Right. On August 17, 2018, Karla and her boyfriend, John Rogers welcomed their first child.
