Journey into the World of Pirates: Loguetown Arc & Buggy’s Crew Adventures Chronicles
My thoughts watching through One Piece: Possible Spoilers

Episode 45, 48–53: Loguetown arc & Episodes 46 to 47: Buggy’s Crew Adventure Chronicles
This is the first arc in One Piece that I felt was filler but I still enjoyed it. I did say earlier I wanted to see more Buggy and I got exactly what I wanted, Plus some awesome new characters introduced.

Loguetown Arc
Let's start by talking about the new marine characters introduced. We meet Tashigi who is a quirky marine. I love having yet another strong female lead and I relate to Tashigi in the later arcs. She is extremely knowledgeable and an amazing swordsman, yet is too hard on herself.
Her captain is Smoker, who is easily one of my favorite marines, We haven’t had good encounters with the marines yet and I feel as if Smoker is one of the good ones. He is harsh and scary but you can tell he is a marine to protect others. He will do what's right even if it conflicts with his mission. In this arc, however, he is just focused on catching Luffy. I do think out of the Devil Fruit powers we have seen so far Smoker’s ability is the one I would want.
We also got to see what ended up happening to Alvida. In a big twist, she went from being overweight and unattractive to beautiful. I am not going to lie I also didn’t recognize her at first. But she ate a devil fruit that made her body smooth and slippery, which in turn made most attacks and objects slide off her body. We are now getting a look into the different types of devil fruits and the amount of people who have eaten them receiving amazing abilities from them.

I thought it was creative to see the place Gol D. Roger’s life ended. The Marine’s plan to eliminate the pirate king backfired right away. A few simple words fueled a new generation of pirates to search for the one piece. It was where Luffy’s dream to become the king of the pirates by finding the one piece started to burn bright.

Buggy’s Crew Adventure Chronicles
Even though this was 2 episodes it was the most random filler and I enjoy it. Buggy is trying to get his body back, Comepletely helpless, without a crew, we see a more vulnerable side to him. I guess we do need to see how he gets this body back for the Loguetown arc to make sense. But could you skip these couple of episodes? For sure. But I still thought they were fun enough to watch, especially since I wanted to see more Buggy.

I enjoyed this arc even though it felt like filler. Yes, there are some important character introductions but aside from that it felt like a nice break after the last two intense story arcs.

Arlong Park was a rollercoaster of an arc. We now know the main characters’ backstories and see the straw hat pirates in action together. Now it’s time to set sail and find the Grand Line.
