Is Wally Kurth still on DOOL?

Soap fans pay attention to every detail regarding their favorite daytime and characters. The spotlight is currently on Wally Kurth, who has been doing double duty on General Hospital and Days of Our Lives for decades.

Fans have noticed that recently, his DOOL character, Justin Kiriakis, has not been seen in Salem even though his family is dealing with a crisis. Maggie Kiriakis (Suzanne Rogers), Xander Kiriakis (Paul Telfer), Alex Kiriakis (Robert Schoot Wilson), and Phillip Kiriakis (John Paul Lovasier) have been handling the shakeup with Titan Industries and Dimera Enterprises.

Even Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) has been more involved in the corporate drama in recent months than his cousin. Justin is a lawyer, so you would think he would be needed at such a crucial time with the merger and now the unraveling of the deal with Titan/Dimera.

Meanwhile, in Salem, Ned Quartermaine has been making regular appearances since the passing of Monica Quartermaine (Leslie Charleson). He was on hand this past Friday and Monday to learn that his character's mother, Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) inherited the mansion.

As a side note, while Elliot and Kurth portray mother and son in Port Charles, they were lovers when she played Angelica Devereaux in Salem.

Is Ned a full-time character on GH?

Kurth began portraying Justin in 1987 and left the NBC/Peacock soap in 1991 for ABC. He returned to Days of Our Lives in 2009 on contract and for years has appeared on both shows, sometimes simultaneously,

Fans could assume that Kurth is simply spending more time on the ABC soap because of the seriousness of the storyline, but his image is now in the opening credits.

Soap viewers believe this indicates an actor is on contract, and when a face goes missing, fans suspect the person has been dropped to recurring status or fired. Each time soap fans have mentioned actors who were added or dropped from the opening credits, they have usually been accurate about their status.

So, what's the deal with Ned and Justin. Has the soap vet chosen one soap over another, or is there a different explanation? There is no information online suggesting that Kurth is no longer on DOOL. He could be temporarily off-screen and on contract with GH until Monica's will storyline is concluded.

Ned increases as Justin decreases

Bonnie Kiriakis ( Judy Evans), who is married to Justin, has been in recent scenes on Days but without her spouse. In the meantime, on GH, fans have noted that Lisa LiCecero ( Olivia Quartermaine) has also been off-screen for a while but is now being shown in more scenes.

General Hospital viewers love seeing Ned and Olivia as a couple and are happy that they have remained together. Fans hope that they will continue to be shown frequently even after this storyline concludes.

DOOL viewers who enjoy Bonnie and Justin are frustrated that the duo is not shown more, especially with all the drama happening at the Kiriakis mansion.

Soap fans will be watching and waiting

Soap fans who enjoy both Ned and Justin can watch for updates and spoilers from the Peacock and ABC soaps as they become available. They can also continue watching Days of Our Lives and General Hospital to learn the status of Wally Kurth's characters on each show.

In the meantime, enjoy Ned's frequent appearances and. his banter with Tracy, which is always good for a laugh.
