Victor Newman's daughters share a birthday

Daytime actors may find they have things in common, although they did not work together. This is the case with two beloved soap vets who share a daytime drama, a soap family, and a birthday. On November 4, Heather Tom will be 48, and Emme Rylan will be 44.

Both of these lovely ladies were on The Young and the Restless, but not at the same time. They were siblings in one of the most famous soap families ever.

Longtime daytime viewers recall fondly that Tom and Rylan were part of the Newman clan in Genoa City, as the daughters of Victor Newman (Eric Braeden). Heather's time on the CBS soap as Victoria Newman was pretty much normal but Emme became known as the Naked Heiress when her character Abby Newman rode a horse like Lady Godiva.

Little-Known Facts about Heather Tom

Tom began acting in television commercials and modeling at age 2. Her first credited role was in Who's the Boss in 1989. She portrayed Victoria Newman on The Young and the Restless from 1990 until 2003.

It's difficult to believe it's been over two decades. Amelia Henile began playing the character in 2007 and continues today. Tom next played Kelly Kramer on One Life to Live from 2003-2006.

She took her character to All My Children from 2004-2005. In 2007, the soap vet began portraying Katie Logan on The Bold and the Beautiful, where remains and has also directed episodes.

This past Spring, Heather Tom directed an all-female episode of B&B, which she also starred in. Everyone in front of and behind the camera was a woman. Her brother, David Tom, is also an actor. He portrayed Billy Abbott on Y&R and played her brother, Paul Cramer, on OLTL.

The siblings became the first brother and sister to be nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award. Her last credit other than B&B was Les Mystères de l'amour (2025). She married James Archer in 2011, and they have one son.

Little-Known Facts about Emme Rylan

Rylan began her soap career when she portrayed Lizzie Spaulding on Guiding Light from 2006 until 2009. She stepped into the role of Abby Newman on Y&R in 2010.

When she was removed from contract status, Rylan left the CBS soap and joined the cast of General Hospital as Lulu Spencer that same year. In 2020, Lulu was injured by a bomb blast. She was in a coma off-screen, and Rylan was fired.

Fans spent four years encouraging the actress who admitted she would love to return to her GH role. Lulu was recast in October 2024 with Alexa Havins Bruening.

Rylan admitted in social media posts that she was disappointed that General Hospital did not call her back as Lulu. The actress currently has a crochet business with her good friend Kirsten Storms, who portrays Maxi Jones on General Hospital. They sell their wares on Etsy.

Emme Rylan has been married to Don Money since 2007. They once gave up their home and spent time traveling in an RV with their three children. Her last credited roles were the short Chatter and portraying Bethany Gina Roman-Quinn in the audio drama Montecito both in 2025.
