What secrets and changes lurk inside the newly expanded Multiverse? The devious Director Bones of the D.E.O. re-forms a ragtag team to keep the new worlds at bay, but was highly skilled agent Cameron Chase recruited because the director needs her help, or because he wants a patsy when things go south? Meanwhile, Alan Scott, the original Green Lantern, takes drastic measures to find his missing daughter. Someone has kidnapped Jade, and Alan’s going to find out why and bring her home. Plus, the resurrection of Roy Harper gives the former Teen Titan some unexpected and unpredictable new powers.

I love this series and we will need to have either a new Chase series or a DEO book that follows because now more than ever it’s really needed and if anything this issue alone proves that. Since I know we’re getting a new JSA book and the missing heroes who have been reset after the rebirth of the Multiverse is going to spin out of this than why not Chase? Though let’s be honest too with Speedy’s return does that mean Kole, Jericho, Tula and the other Titans have returned as well?

I’m a huge fan of the way that this is being told. The story & plot development that we see through how the sequence of events unfold as well as how the reader learns information is presented exceptionally well. The character development that we see through the dialogue, the character interaction as well as how they act and react to the situations and circumstances they encounter is magnificently fleshing out the characters we know. The pacing is superb and as it takes us through the pages revealing the stories held within it engages and excites the reader perfectly.

I greatly appreciate how this is being structured and how the layers within the story continue to grow, strengthen and evolve while new ones present themselves. These layers contain so much and the transitions between story arc is perfection to me. The depth, dimension and complexity that these add is stunning. How everything works together to create the story’s ebb & flow as well as how it moves the story forward is utterly marvellous.

The interiors here are phenomenal and so many teams doing so many segments and all of it flowing like it belongs to one creative team is astounding work. The linework throughout is super strong, clean and crisp and how the varying weights and techniques are being utilised to create the detail work that we see is stupendous. I do wish we’d see more backgrounds being utilised and with that being said we still have some great depth perception, sense of scale and the overall sense of size and scope to the book thanks to how we see the composition within the panels. The utilisation of the page layouts and how we see the angles and perspective in the panels show some truly remarkable eyes for storytelling. The colour work is brilliantly rendered throughout. The various hues and tones within the colours being utilised to create the shading, highlights and shadow work show someone who understand how colour works and can maximise the affect it has on the work.

So many great things going for this limited series. I’m hoping that each arc does spin off into its own series as that would be amazing to see. Though please someone bring back Earth 2 and the All-Star Squadron please that’s all I ask. This is so amazingly well written and the characterisation is otherworldly and I cannot get enough of it, then of course add in this level of quality interiors and by George I think they’ve got it!
