Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 3 Review
Laughter, Tears And A Perfect Goodbye To James Gunn's Trilogy
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 movie review: At 150 minutes, Vol. 3 outruns its welcome despite James Gunn really packing it on.
We finished Volume 2 with the question: how many stars can a galaxy take. Clearly, keep counting. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is an even more chaotic, if less zanier, addition to its two previous partner films, and among the many planets it zooms, crashes or just swings through include a ‘Contra-Earth’ and Earth itself.
But it essentially is a passing of the baton. This is a film in which Rocket the Raccoon (yes, it is firmly established this time that a raccoon is who he is) gets a backstory, a centrestage, and a glorious send-off into the future – besides a couple of scenes of genuine high-emotion cinema.

The Story:
Peter Quill is still dealing with the loss of Gamora and uses drinking to cope with the situation. Meanwhile, a deadly attack leaves Rocket on the verge of death. Peter and his team have to save Rocket and the universe but this dangerous mission can cost their lives. The movie will also explore the origin of Rocket and where he came from.
Review
Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3' starts on a heartwarming yet sad note as Peter Quill aka Star-Lord is grieving the loss of Gamora, whereas, you will see the Guardians, including Drax, Mantis, Groot, Rocket, Kraglin, taking care of each other as a family. All the characters in the Guardians have a tragic past, dealing with the death and loss of their loved ones. But here the Guardians have found a new family and is beautiful to see these characters building their home on Knowhere.
The movie will make you laugh with its goofiness and leaves you in tears with some heartbreaking scenes at the same time. There is a perfect balance of emotions in the film and it is not forced upon the audience. The punchlines, dialogue exchanges and the physical comedy between the actors is near perfect and will genuinely make you chuckle.
Whereas, the origin story of Rocket shows some heartwrenching moments which can leave tears and the perfect voice-overs and special effects makes the scenes even more believable and heartbreaking. Action sequences are well-choreographed and are an absolute delight to watch. There are some scenes where you are left in awe to see how well-executed the action scenes are.

The biggest criticism faced by the recent Marvel movies was their average special effects but 'Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3' has not compromised in this department at all. The different words shown in the film are an absolute delight to watch which was lacking in some of the recent Marvel films.
The actors in the Marvel movies often don't get a chance to show their acting chops as they are overshadowed by other factors. However, every actor shines in this film and the chemistry between them makes the scenes even more entertaining. Chukwudi Iwuji as the High Evolutionary has given one of the finest performances in the film.
The soundtrack this time around is not restricted to ‘70s pop anthems and includes Radiohead (‘Creep’), Alice Cooper (I’m Always Chasing Rainbows) and Bruce Springsteen (‘Badlands’). Statuesque Elizabeth Debicki has fun as High Priestess Ayesha (Adam’s somewhat mum) as does Sylvester Stallone as a Ravager. The mid and end credit sequence shows the future of the new and old Guardians. All signed, sealed and delivered.
Gunn's farewell reminds us of some of the identity that's been lost along the way and that once elevated the entire franchise to new heights; the Marvel camp might never again hire an author with a voice as strong as this one. There's a new path forward opened for this specific saga, but whoever comes in next has awfully big shoes to fill.
