Greg Vaughn joins the cast of Beyond the Gates
The soap vet's character is yet to be announced

Greg Vaughn joins his fourth soap opera
TV Insider reported that Michele Van Jean, the head writer and creator of Beyond the Gates, revealed last month that a male soap vet would be joining the show. According to Soap Opera Digest, veteran actor Greg Vaughn is that man.
He is scheduled to appear on his fourth daytime drama sometime during season 2 of BTG, which chronicles the lives of the uber-rich who live in Fairmont Crest.
The actor was born James Gregory Vaughan Jr., in Dallas, Texas, on June 15, 1973. He began his career as a male model at the age of 16. At 18, he traveled to Milan, Italy, to model for Giorgio Armani. His first television credit was in Baywatch in 1996 as a cowboy. His first film role was Poison Ivy: The New Seduction in 1997.
Greg Vaughan on Days of Our Lives
Soap fans know Vaughn has portrayed the beloved Eric Brady on Days of Our Lives since 2012. He won an Outstanding Supporting Actor Award for his role in 2018.
He was last on the Peacock soap earlier this year when he spoke at the memorial service for the man who raised him, his stepfather John Black (Drake Hogestyn). It was mentioned at that time that he was having problems with his partner, Nicole Walker (Ari Zucker).
This led some Days of Our Lives viewers to assume that Eric Brady might return to Salem for good, but he went back to Paris. Holly Jonas (Ashley Puzemus) is poised to leave town to live with her mom and stepfather in France and have an off-screen family reunion unless some things change quickly.

The Young and the Restless and General Hospital
Vaughn also played Lucky Spencer on General Hospital from 2003–2009. His version of the popular character was on drugs and had an affair with Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms). Greg and Van Jean worked together previously on the ABC daytime drama.
Vaughan also portrayed Diego Guittierez on The Young and the Restless from 2002 to 2003. Diego had an affair with Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) while she was married to Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow). Diego was the brother of Raul Guittierez (David Lago), who was best friends with Billy Abbott (then Billy Miller).
What type of character will he portray?
General Hospital fans know that John Lindstrom, who played twins Kevin Collins and Ryan Chamberlin, portrays Joey Armstrong on BTG. Now the soap has snagged Vaughn. Could his character be related to Armstrong or someone else on the soap?
There has been no news about which character the popular actor will portray or whether he will be on contract. Beyond the Gates tapes episodes in Atlanta, while the other soaps film in California.
This is why Wally Kurth portrays Justine Kiriakis on DOOL and Ned Quartermaine on GH sometimes simultaneously. Both of his soaps are in the Sunshine State.
Will Greg Vaughan be on two soaps?
Some soap fans have wondered if Vaughan and Lindstrom will do double duty while they are on the CBS soap, but traveling from the Sunshine State to Atlanta might be difficult.
Vaughan has managed to keep himself busy in between daytime roles. The actor's additional credits include Buffy the Vampire Slayer, The Love Boat: The Next Wave, Charmed, Baywatch, Pacific Blue, and portraying Detective Calvin on Queen Sugar.
He was also in the made-for-television movies A Very Country Christmas and A Very Country Wedding. Be watching for updates and breaking news from Beyond the Gates for more information on when Greg Vaughan will debut and details about his new character.
