Great Cast, Bad Movie

Why I Didn't Like the film: Batman vs. Superman

By Shanon Angermeyer NormanPublished about a year ago Updated about a year ago 2 min read

As a long long long time fan of both Batman and Superman, I was very very very upset and disappointed with the movie: "Batman vs. Superman". I don't know who to be more upset with - Director Zack Snyder or the writers Chris Terrio and David Goyer. Sometimes new, fresh, and different is a great idea. In this case, it was just absolutely horrible.

"Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice" premiered in 2016. I do not know if this movie from Warner Brothers productions was considered a success or not, but after a beautiful film like "Man of Steel", I do not think this was the way to follow up. It would be like putting out a movie called "WonderWoman vs Catwoman". Do you really want to see that? I don't.

Snyder had one of the best casts a production could ever ask for including Ben Affleck (Batman), Henry Cavill (Superman), Amy Adams (Lois), Jesse Eisenburg (Lex), Diane Lane and Lawrence Fishburne; And the best they could do is make a fan like me feel completely miserable? That's not why I watch a movie. Sentimental tears are one thing, but humiliating and destroying one of the greatest superheroes of all time is just pathetic.

If you've not seen the movie, consider yourself lucky. I won't spoil it completely for those who do not heed my advice, but the basic plot is Batman kicks Superman's butt. It's so terrible to watch especially if you're like me and you love them both.

I'm only mentioning my "thumbs down" on this movie because I read somewhere that the movie producers are talking about putting out a film called "Black Adam vs Superman" or something like that. I'm appalled. I won't spend one penny on such a film. I refuse to invest one cent or one minute supporting another view of humiliating Superman. This has nothing to do with whoever the actor playing Superman is, and everything to do with comic fan loyalty. If they had talked about putting out a movie called "Black Adam vs Aquaman" then I may have considered it, because that would be a fair fight. But these stupid unfair fights do not interest me. Who's going to bet on a horse with a broken leg at the horse race? Not me. Screw you, movie producers who want to destroy my heroes. Your humiliation films are pathetic and a waste of time and money. You don't care about comic book fans. You're just sad exploiters who can't come up with good movies.

As horrible as it sounds to see a film like "WonderWoman vs Catwoman", even that is a fair fight. Superman's only fair fight was against villains like Lex. Some Justice League fans said that the Wonder Twins were the weakest link in the team, but at least they weren't humiliated as severely as they have done to Superman. If you are a movie maker or a fan who gets off on seeing our superheroes humiliated or destroyed, I pity you.

Aquaman has a chance to beat Black Adam, not Superman. If Batman can beat Superman, obviously so can Black Adam. What's the point? Aquaman vs Black Adam is a fair fight --- leave Superman alone, he's been humiliated and destroyed enough.
