‘General Hospital’ father and son reunion
TJ and Shawn finally
GENERAL HOSPITAL spoilers reveal that Shawn Butler will soon have a reunion with his son TJ. Shawn has been in Pentonville prison since May of 2015 for a crime he did not commit. GH viewers have been crying for Shawn to be set free and it looks like this may become a reality. Shawn's relationship with his young adult son is pretty complicated so there may be tension between the two.
TJ's mom is police commissioner Jordan Ashford who was married to Thomas Ashford Sr. She had an affair with her husband's best friend Shawn Butler but did not tell him that Thomas Jr. was his son. Jordan's husband found out about the affair and tried to kill Shawn, who shot and killed Thomas in self defense. Years later Jordan began a relationship with her husband's brother Curtis Ashford which caused problems for his Aunt Stella.
When TJ found out that Shawn was his biological father he was outraged and with good reason. His mother cheated on the man he thought was his dad with his best friend, then later married her deceased husband's brother. Now Curtis and Jordan are getting divorced and it's not clear who will be her next romantic interest. Jordan had been spending time with her former partner Marcus Taggert.
Curtis is getting closer to Portia Robinson whom he had an affair with years ago when she was married to Taggert. Some GENERAL HOSPITAL viewers believe that Portia's daughter Trina will turn out to be the daughter of Curtis instead of Taggert which would make her TJ's cousin. Now that Shawn is talking to Alexis she may try to get him exonerated. This would mean that she might have to acknowledge that her nephew Nikolas paid someone to kill Hayden.
It will be a hard choice for Ms. Davis to decide whether to help Shawn, her former lover be set free or implicate her nephew who is moving heaven and earth to keep her safe while in Pentonville. Some GENERAL HOSPITAL viewers suspect Alexis and Shawn might get back together which would be interesting since Shawn's son TJ is dating Molly who is Alexis' daughter.
Spoilers don't say why TJ will decide to visit Shawn in prison but only that the father and son will reunite. Alexis is supposed to get good news this week, that encourages her regarding her skills as a lawyer. It probably means that her cellmate Maggie has been released and this may cause Ms. Davis to be even more determined to help Shawn.
Last week Nikolas announced that he had purchased Pentonville prison. He might pull some type of strings to get Shawn released but Butler does not want to leave until he can prove his innocence. GENERAL HOSPITAL viewers will be watching to see what happens when Shawn and TJ meet. They will also be curious as to which ex Shawn will end up with, Alexis or Jordan or neither.
TJ and Shawn have a long way to go in building a relationship. There has been so much drama and so many secrets related to this young man Shawn only found out that TJ was his son just a few days before confessing to shooting Hayden Barnes so they have a lot of time to make up. Perhaps once Shawn is set free he can begin to build a bridge a Be on the lookout for updates to this storyline to find out what happens next.
