General Hospital: Viewers are distraught regarding Liam's death

General Hospital fans have been expressing varied opinions related to Friday's episode and the death of Brando Corbin (Johnny Wactor) and Sasha Gilmore's (Sofia Mattsson) baby Liam Michael. Viewers had been anticipating the return of Max Gail, although the actor said nothing on his social media accounts. The veteran actor showed up to take his namesake to heaven after the infant was removed from life support.

Many viewers said they were dismayed that General Hospital had such a depressing storyline during the Christmas season. Wactor tried to address disgruntled fans by saying that he doesn't know why this played out the way it did. A number of fans praised Gilmore and Wactor for their performances which brought a lot of tears from the viewing audience. One viewer brought up former head writer Claire Labine who was fired and rehired twice during the 1980s and 1990s. Labine was responsible for the stories where Robin Scorpio Drake (Kimberly McCullough) and Stone Cates (Michael Sutton) both had HIV and Stone eventually died of Aids. She was also behind Monica Quartermaine's having breast cancer.

General Hospital: Liz Webber says a mouthful

Another GH fan quoted Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst) who stated what many had been saying on other social media platforms which is that Liam died while Peter August (Wed Ramsey) who is a killer continues to escape punishment for his many crimes. Peter seems to never run out of steam and most fans believe it is time for him to be eliminated.

It was noted by viewers that Gladys Corbin (Bonnie Burroughs) the baby's grandmother was not on hand when Liam passed away. Instead, Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) and Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) were on hand along with Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard).

Brando and Sasha's future may be in jeopardy

It's not clear what direction Brando and Sasha will be heading at this point and they had an unconventional relationship. The duo shared one night together which resulted in the pregnancy. Sasha pointed out she was a modern woman and could take care of herself and her baby. She also was not interested in marriage and disliked Brando's connection to Sonny's mob business. Some viewers are now wondering if the relationship will survive thsi devastating blow.

Kudos to Johnny Wactor and Sophia Matteson for stellar performances all through this situation and especially on Friday. They should be awarded the Soap Hub Performance of the week award. After having Jason declared dead, and Britt's heartbroken it has been a pretty depressing time in Port Charles. Seeing the talented Max Gail reminds viewers that he was hired to portray Mike who was going to die and he can no longer have a viable role on General Hospital.

Spoilers are saying that Brando will have to help Sasha get through this tough time and tease that it could tear them apart. Some General Hospital fans are concerned that she might relapse and begin taking drugs again.
