‘Gen V’ Stars Tease How the Season 2 Finale Sets Up a Potential Season 3 and ‘The Boys’ Season 5 [Exclusive]
Crossover Potential Between The Boys and Gen V

Now that Season 5 of The Boys has officially wrapped filming, with the creative team heading into post-production, fans have been keeping an eye on any and all news that will tease what might go down in the final season. Considering where we left off with the titular team of vigilantes and the leaders at Vought during the Season 4 finale, there’s plenty at stake — like the fate of the entire world, let alone the fate of those living in Homelander's (Antony Starr) America. However, before the final few episodes of the hit Prime Video series arrive on our screens sometime next year (hopefully), its ever-popular offshoot, Gen V, will give us an idea of what’s to come.

While speaking with series stars Jaz Sinclair and Lizze Broadway on the red carpet ahead of the Season 2 premiere of Gen V, Collider’s Aidan Kelley got the scoop about how each actress viewed the bridge formed by the show’s sophomore finale. While Broadway was sure to tell Kelley that she was completely in the dark about whether Gen V Season 2 worked better as a bridge between a potential third season and the fifth season of The Boys, revealing, “I don’t know anything, they keep everything under wraps,” she teased that the possibilities were endless for “both” projects to gain something from how things shake out. Without divulging too much information, she said, “I think The Boys and Gen V do a great dance with each other,” leaving us with the impression that Gen V’s follow-up season will serve as the foundation for Season 5 of The Boys.
Digging into things a bit deeper, Sinclair said that she believed the Gen V finale better set up The Boys Season 5, adding,
“I think we’ve done a really good 'tag, you’re it' situation. Their Season 3 set up our Season 1 and ours set up their four and their 4 set up our 2, and so I think we definitely set up their Season 5.”
Crossover Potential Between 'The Boys' and 'Gen V'

As fans already know, both Gen V and The Boys have crossed over into one another’s universes on more than one occasion. From what trailers have teased for the upcoming second season of the former, we know that along with the return of Chace Crawford’s The Deep, other characters from the flagship series like Erin Moriarty’s Starlight and Nathan Mitchell’s Black Noir will make their way into Gen V. When asked about the potential of her character, Marie Moreau, and the rest of the Gen V crew bleeding into the fifth season of The Boys, Sinclair held her cards close to her chest, giving Kelley an enthusiastic “I hope so!”

What makes these shows unique is the way they weave storytelling across different titles without losing their individual flavor. Gen V was designed to expand The Boys universe, but it never feels like just a spin-off. Instead, it brings fresh perspectives by focusing on younger characters dealing with superpowers in a high-stakes academic setting. This dynamic creates an exciting contrast to the politically charged and violent nature of The Boys, while still feeding into the same overall narrative.

Fans have often compared this crossover strategy to what Marvel achieved with its cinematic universe, but The Boys has carved its own lane. Rather than following a formula, it thrives on unpredictability, shock value, and satire. The connections between Gen V and The Boys aren’t just fan service; they actively deepen the stakes of the storyline. Every cameo or crossover has ripple effects that could impact how the final season of The Boys unfolds.
Another major aspect is character growth. Characters like Starlight, The Deep, and even Black Noir bring baggage from The Boys into Gen V, creating more layered storytelling. This approach also raises intriguing questions about how new Gen V heroes like Marie Moreau could shape or challenge the established power dynamics in The Boys Season 5. It keeps audiences guessing about alliances, betrayals, and who might rise to power in the chaos that Homelander has unleashed.

Season 2 of Gen V kicks off on Prime Video with a three-part premiere on September 17.
