Fly Me to the Moon: 2024's Most Underrated Rom-Com
'Fly Me to the Moon' has stellar performances

It’s one small step for man - and a cat.
Fly Me to the Moon is a 2024 film. The countdown is underway for the Apollo 11 moon launch. When the White House deems the mission too important to fail, NASA plans an impractical moon landing as a backup.
Movies like Fly Me to the Moon are why I go to the movie theater to experience them. I declare this the most underrated movie of 2024. This film is satirical but incorporates several surprises. Fly Me to the Moon is a refreshing story that kept audiences laughing and waiting to see what happens next.
Scarlett Johansson and Channing Tatum are the driving forces of Fly Me to the Moon. Their chemistry is fantastic! I had no idea they’d make a memorable team. Both actors are amazing in their respective roles with Johansson leading like a boss. Kelly Jones never stops her fierce attitude, suggesting ideas and alternatives.
I never expected Tatum in a role like this. He is incredible in how he interprets his role as Cole Davis. Tatum is famous for his comedy background, but in Fly Me to the Moon, he proves he’s capable of much more. He is the standout performance. This role is sure to open new doors.
Fly Me to the Moon has stellar performances from Woody Harrelson, Ray Romano, Jim Rash, Anna Garcia, and more. Many of the NASA workers were played by actual people who work at NASA, SpaceX, and Boeing engineers.
Greg Berlanti wanted to make Fly Me to the Moon something different compared to other rom-coms. The film transitions between comedy, romance, and satire without losing focus. His vision for the film is executed with precision. This movie is charming and captures viewers' attention with a unique premise.
The film has several humorous moments. The script is filled with witty dialogue, balancing humor with moments of genuine introspection. My theater cackled at Lance Vespertine’s (Rash) scenes. The flamboyant director demanded his own vision of the moon landing. The cat scene is forever iconic as it makes trouble on the set.
Fly Me to the Moon is a visually appealing film. Audiences are taken back to the 1960s. Since the story takes place at a space station, I have been interested in learning more about space travel, especially how NASA achieves rocket launches.
Several scenes were filmed onsite at the Kennedy Space Center. Tatum commented that they were lucky to watch rockets launching into space.
Another behind-the-scenes story that I found amusing involves the wardrobe team. Due to the strict dress code at NASA, the wardrobe team had to keep tucking in shirts of the male actors. As a thank you, the team sent a note of gratitude. All around, the wardrobe, makeup, and hair team did an amazing job recreating styles of the 60s.
It was confusing as to what message Berlanti was conveying, but I have my own theory. The first moon landing was an exciting and terrifying venture back in the 60s. Because nobody knew if the landing would be a success, the characters created the moon landing set as an alternative.
We need to have faith in others' ideas. The message is wrapped in a satirical way but molds heartfelt moments. You need to look past this format and view Fly Me to the Moon for what it is.
Fly Me to the Moon is a must-see rom-com. I am surprised that this film has not garnered more hype. It’s something different. Once it’s streaming watch Fly Me to the Moon.

I don’t much care for Channing Tatum, but I have admit that this movie sounds cute.
