Marvel really pushed out the projects this year, so for those of you who praised Iger for his “quality over quantity” bullshit I hope you feel as stupid as you are. Cause 3 films and 5 TV shows is exactly what’s been happening for the last decade if not more. And most of what they put out this year was fantastic and the rest of it was good. Eyes of Wakanda is no different. I really wish we got more stuff from Marvel animation, it's so beautifully done and often it's better than a good chunk of the live action stuff.
Damn the animation looks so good. This is so beautiful to look at.
Really leaning into the inherent brutality of early tribes. I LOVE that this focuses on the Dora Milaje. They are literally my favorite.
This guy is from Wakanda, he’s gonna know immediately that it's a member of the Dora that’s fucking up his whole operation here. My girl fights smarter and harder, god I love the Dora I really do.
What is this purple fire? Last time I checked vibranium wasn’t infused with magic and shit. It looks like it's powered by an infinity stone but a little confused as to how he got himself the power stone.
“If freedom is what you offer, why are there so many chains”...great writing.
I am very absorbed by this show right now, I literally can't take my eyes off it.
I love that this gives a more global motivation to Wakanda. It's really nice to see an agent of Wakanda explore the world through history. And we’re just following this infinity stone around, it's just so good. An infinity stone is absolutely enough motivation to get Wakanda to interact with the rest of the world.
I love the battle of Troy as a background, it's super recognizable, super interesting. They managed to take a story everyone knows and ass in Wakanda and a secret mission giving it a nice fresh twist. The animation continues to be beautiful. Seriously the framing and movement in this is so good. The slicing of Achilles’ ankle was a tad aggressive.
Oh very nice, the agent from the last episode passes it down to the agent of this one. I love that a lot, what a great way to connect these episodes instead of it just being a really short anthology series. Damn the writing in this is pretty good. Not gonna like this is one of the best things the MCU has ever done.
The third episode has a lot more dialogue then the first two episodes. The first episodes were very quiet, and let the action and animation speak for itself. As we move through time and get more modern the dialogue seems to be increasing which is an interesting choice.
It's also doing a good job of showing how advanced Wakanda is compared to the rest of the world throughout history. Vibranium really took them to another technological level and sometimes that’s easy to forget when we don't see them interact with the rest of the world.
I love that they are tying in all the other episodes. This is a really good show. I think we should do more of these, there are lots of historical periods left and we could make some up.
The show does such a good job of having an overarching narrative while also making each individual episode a complete, isolated story. It’s fantastic writing. I really wish there were more than 4 episodes. And I wish that Marvel and the MCU would do more things like this it was the best thing they put out this year as far as their TV shows go.
