EXCLUSIVE: Reason First- Netflix and iHeartMedia Strike Exclusive Video Podcast Deal for 15 Shows Including ‘The Breakfast Club’
Netflix announced that 15 video podcasts, including “The Breakfast Club,” are joining its lineup after inking similar deal with Spotify.

For The Breakfast Club to ascend and Ebro in the Morning to bow out, one might wonder if such instances stand as coincidences.
Leonard “Lesser Charge” McKelvey, Rashaaun “DJ Benji” Casey and Jessica “Jess Hilarious” Moore have formed a nucleus that has bonded them together.
Their morning hijinks and high profile guests propel the morning show. Now, they will take their talents, or at least fill episodes to Netflix in a landmark $200 million deal.
But will they enjoy this great amount and to what extent? McKelvey is poised to cash in as much as the other two but he gets the lion share of attention.
For Casey, he will try to keep the real estate scandal surrounding his name as quiet as possible. For Jess, she’s going to get more money than she ever dreamed of working on shows like Wild ‘n Out. It is going to be a battle, however, for New York radio as a whole to keep trudging through the ratings.
The trio are not even in the top three spaces.
Even though they surpassed a billion views, they still have to keep up with the rest of the country.

Like Andre 3000 said, “The South has something to say.” With all of those Jamz stations down South, there exist plenty of jockeys who wish to take home a piece of the digital pie.
iHeartRadio and Netflix signed on to keep the Club afloat for now. They’ll have to keep up with the content and continue to produce shows that have some modicum of momentum, gravitas, and fun.
This is a milestone that will not be forgotten for a long time. It is a signal to other properties that makes this decision the most interesting.
In the time they’ll be on their way to see just how much of a percentage they’ll get, they will have to display even more agility and wit than they have already.
If the team is able to grab on to the top rungs of the radio game, maybe they’ll have the chance to see real money.
Howard Stern inked a $500 million deal largely for himself. Netflix is just breaking these folks off with a few coins to keep them panting for more crumbs.
Lesser Charge will most likely get the most of the money upfront and the other two will have to scramble for whatever’s left.
Given their talents, Netflix will see if they’re worthy of being promoted on their platform.
All this also comes on the heels of the giant Netflix and Warner Brothers deal.

If history proves right, the radio show will do modestly well and possibly sink into oblivion. The core audience is the coveted 18-34-year-old market. Anyone in their fifties should reconsider their values and seek straight news sources.
People around the country and the world already listened to and watched millions of hours of the Club. Now, with their eyes set on making even more millions, they’re positioning themselves to be even more hungry for getting at dollars.
With personalities like Big Boy and Sway, will they be given multi-hundred-million-deals, too? Their talents far outshine Casey and McKelvey put together. So, what will it be? Will the Club continue to outpace certain competition or will Steve Harvey find a way to double his money and strike into the audible earth for greater riches?
If it comes down to a messy race to the bottom, that should be just as entertaining as any morning sketch or rumor report. To have all of these various names in search of a new way to generate profits, the major companies will of course be the winners. Netflix and iHearRadio will make their billions while the three of them will be chipped off a few millions. It’s not a bad deal, but one must continue to remember…the house always wins. And another thing: where’s Angela Yee?
