Every MCU Cameo In Captain America: Brave New World
This article contains spoilers for Captain America: Brave New World.

We now reveal the identities and significance of the cameos that Captain America: Brave New World, like many other MCU films, kept hidden until the film's release. The possibility of cameos from actors who have previously starred in the nearly two decades of MCU films and TV series that make up Marvel Studios' wildly popular franchise is one of the most exciting parts of the experience. Brave New World has a lot fewer cameos than Deadpool & Wolverine, the only MCU film released last year, but it still has some entertaining surprises.
Captain America: Brave New World mostly centers on Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie), the new Star-Spangled Man, but President Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross (Harrison Ford) also receives a lot of screen time. Returning actors Joaquin Torres (Danny Ramirez) and Samuel Sterns, also known as the Leader (Tim Blake Nelson), as well as up-and-coming actors Giancarlo Esposito as Sidewinder, complete the remaining cast of Captain America: Brave New World. The main cameos in Captain America: Brave New World are listed below.
As Bucky Barnes, Sebastian Stan
After Joaquin is hurt in the battle by Celestial Island, a little over halfway through Captain America: Brave New World, Sam is standing outside the operating room when an off-camera character approaches him. It is soon identified as Sebastian Stan's Bucky Barnes, who embraces Sam and informs him that he saw the news report about Joaquin's injury. The two then discuss Sam's role as Captain America and whether he ought to have taken the super soldier serum in order to combat dangers like the Leader. Bucky leaves for a fundraiser at the end of the scene because he is running for Congress.
The character dynamic between Bucky and Sam from The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and previous Captain America films is maintained by Bucky's cameo. Since they were the two characters closest to Steve Rogers in the MCU, it makes sense for Sam to confide in Bucky about his difficulties as Captain America, even though a large portion of the conversation is a repetition of conversations that Bucky and Sam had during the Disney+ series. Additionally, the cameo establishes Bucky's role as a congressman in Marvel's Thunderbolts* film.
Betty Ross as played by Liv Tyler
The most unexpected of the MCU cameos in Captain America: Brave New World is probably Liv Tyler's first appearance as Betty Ross in 17 years. Despite occasional references over the years, the actress hasn't reprised her role as Bruce Banner's love interest since The Incredible Hulk (2008). Since Ross spends a large portion of Brave New World trying to improve himself in the hopes of mending his relationship with Betty, from whom he has been estranged for many years, she returned as part of his character arc.
Ross is imprisoned in the Raft at the end of the film after going on a rampage as the Red Hulk. There, Betty shows up and speaks to her father in the Raft cell after Sam pays him a visit to inform him that his treaty was ratified. This follows Tyler's voice appearance in the scene before Ross changes into the Red Hulk. He calls Betty, and the two of them have a brief phone chat during which they decide to go for a walk among the cherry blossoms. The film's recurrent theme is Ross's memories of viewing the cherry blossoms with his daughter, which brings an end to his Red Hulk outburst.
After her brief appearance in Captain America: Brave New World, Tyler's future in the MCU is uncertain, but she might make another appearance. She has reestablished contact with her father, who is still alive in the franchise, after all. Tyler might also make an appearance if Ford reprises his role as the Red Hulk. However, it's unclear if that will occur following Captain America: Brave New World.
