Enter The Seven Kingdoms

When it comes to Fantasy, there are so many stories, characters, sagas and worlds that come to mind. Middle-Earth, Narnia, Hogwarts, Camp Half-blood, Oz, Earthsea and many others. The one fantasy realm that has always been a obsession of mine. Westeros. Yes, to this day, fans are still upset with the ending of the show, who became King, how the Long Night was talked about all series, and not even with it ending on the last episode. The main focus, was Daenerys Targaryen claiming the Iron throne, in the name of the father, who was slain by the Lannisters. When Missandei, one of her most trusted friends. Was killed by the Mountain, orders from Cersei Lannister, the Queen of the 7 kingdoms. She wanted revenge. For countless seasons, she had a trusted council. Who warned her, don't make the same mistakes as her father, The Mad king, Aerys Targaryen. Don't let your rage cloud your judgement. She was beloved overseas, freeing hundreds of thousands, of slaves in the other Continent, Essos. With great mentors like Tyrion "The Imp" Lannister, Ser Jorah Mormont, Missandei, Daario and The second sons, Varys, Dothraki blood riders, and Greyworm, the head of the legion of Unsullied warriors. And of course, having her 3 fully grown dragons, Drogon, Rhaegal, and Viserion. She was unstoppable. She could of easily taking the throne again Cersei, but she didn't want to burn and kill innocent people in King's landing, the capitol. She tried so hard to not be her father, to not be a tyrant. Trying to build allies the right way, with Houses that wanted to get even with Cersei and the Lannisters. House Tyrell from High Garden, House Martell from Dorne, and House Greyjoy from the Iron Islands. After conquering and freeing the voiceless in Essos. She returned home to Dragonstone, to build her Empire. But Cersei, was already making alliances of her own with all the other lords of Westeros. And buying her army, from the Golden Company from Essos.

This is where Jon Snow and the Starks of North, comes in. The Starks, being a legendary house, has ruled the North, the biggest country in the Seven Kingdoms, for thousands of years. The Targaryen's created the Iron Throne, over 300 years prior. When Aegon, and his two sisters, Visenya and Rhaenys conquered Westeros, with their dragons. There was a Targaryen on the Iron throne ever since. Until Robert Baratheon and Ned Stark's rebellion. The Starks, Baratheons, Arryn's and Tully's, all formed an alliance to overthrow The Mad King and his son, Prince Rhaegar Targaryen. When Rhaegar kidnapped, Ned's sister Lyanna Stark. Who was promised to Robert as his wife. Aerys, also burned Ned's father and brother alive in King's landing. So everything went down hill for the Targaryen dynasty. Robert killed Rhaegar at the Trident, Tywin Lannister, once hand to the King to Aerys. Sided with the rebel families. And his son, Jaime Lannister, who was a 16 year old King's Guard to Aerys. Stabbed him in the back, seconds before Ned came. The Targaryen's were destroyed, as they assumed. Robert and the Baratheons, would take the Iron throne. Making Cersei Lannister his wife. Jon Arryn, who raised both Robert and Ned, became hand to the king. And baby Daenarys and her older brother, Viserys, were forced into exile and on the run to Essos. Robert did not stop until every Targaryen, was killed.

We soon realize, that Rhaegar Targaryen and Lyanna Stark were actually in love. And had a child, right before Rhaegar was slain on the battlefield by Robert. Ned, making a promise to his sister. To always protect him from Robert and everyone else. Ned, comes him with a baby after years of war. Returning to Winterfell, where his wife Catelyn Stark, thought he had an affair while gone. Never showing any love to this baby boy. Has she did to her own children: Robb, Sansa, Arya, Bran and Rickon. Years later, as the Game of thrones started. Jon Arryn mysteriously died, King Robert came to the North to have Ned become Hand of the king. And Jon, wanting to join the Nights Watch, like his Uncle Benjen. Protecting the realm from wildlings, and soon, The Night King, and his army of the dead. Long story short, Robert dies from an "hunting accident", Joffrey who was his "son" became the new King of the Seven Kingdoms. Ned, still being the Hand of the King, finds out while Jon Arryn died, because him became close to the truth. Jaime, and his twin sister, the wife of the King, Cersei. Had actually been having an affair behind Robert's back. So the twins, had 3 kids, Joffrey, Myrcella and Tommen. Jaime, also pushed 10 year old Bran Stark, off a tower, because Bran saw the twins getting it on. Cersei, did whatever it took to protect her family, and hide the truth. Making sure Joffrey was getting the crown. Joffrey was rotten to the core. Claiming Ned was a traitor, and wanted the throne for himself. So he took his head, right in front of his daughters, Arya and Sansa. This started the war of the five kings.

Robb, next heir in line to take Winterfell and the North, called all his banners, and marched south to avenge his father. Jon, now being in the Night's watch, vowed to fight with his "brother" and take down the Lannisters. Losing his Commander, in the process. Robb and his mother, eventually got killed in the red wedding, after going back on a promise, to marry one of Walder Frey's daughters, which he did not. The Freys backstabbed the Starks and Tully's in the process, allied with the Lannisters, so did the Boltons, who were bannermen to the Starks for centuries. Roose Bolton would now become Warden of the North. Since Brand and Rickon, were presummed dead, by Theon Greyjoy. Who backstabbed his close friend, Robb. And took the castle of Winterfell. He placed two burned bodies, to make it look like the young Stark boys. By they were very much alive, and heading North with Osha, Hodor, the Reed siblings, and the two Dire wolves. Arya, after seeing her beloved father get beheaded. Was on the run, heading towards Castle Black to see Jon, then with Gendry and the Brotherhood without Banners, then a long time with the Hound. A former body guard of the Lannisters and Joffrey. After her mother and brother were killed in the Red wedding, she went to visit her Aunt Lysa in the Vale, widow of Jon Arryn. But Lysa was killed by Little finger, who was with Sansa Stark, Arya's older sister. Sansa had a devasting time in King's Landing after her father died. She was tortured by Joffrey, was then, the wife of The Imp, Tyrion Lannister. When Tyrion got framed for the death of King Joffrey, at his wedding with the Tyrells. She escaped the capital, with Little finger. Since Baelish, loved her mother, Catelyn Stark, as a boy. Sansa, was later married again to Ramsay Bolton, a ruthless lad, who took over her home in Winterfell. Ramsay, tortured Theon Greyjoy, now Reek. And cut off his man parts. Arya, went overseas to Bravos, in Essos. To be trained as a faceless assassin, and to be "No one".

Jon meanwhile, becomes the new Lord commander, with help from his best friend, Samwell Tarly. Jon fell in love with a Wilding girl, named Ygritte. Also having much respect and love for the Wildlings, and their king Mance Rayder. Having over 100 thousand in his army, North of the Wall. Trying to escape the army of the dead and the White walker. Jon's brothers at the Night's watch, hated the Wildings, because they were savages and barbaric. Jon wanted to unit everyone, so they can escape from the Night King. Jon was stabbed to death though, from half of his brothers. Because his love for the Wildlings. He was though, brought back to life, from the Red woman, Melisandre. She served Stannis Baratheon during the war of the Five kings, until he was slain by Brienne of Tarth. Cause Stannis, killed his younger brother Renly, after Robert died. And they were fighting for the Iron throne. Anyways, Jon returns from the dead. Leaving the Night's watch. Reunites with Sansa, takes back their home at Winterfell, with help from Tormund and the Wildlings, and some of the Northern houses. They did lose their youngest brother, Rickon Stark. He was a prisoner of Ramsay, killed right in front of Jon. So the Starks once again has Winterfell. Bran, the crippled boy who fell off the tower, becomes the Three eyed raven, who can see the past, present and future. An enemy of the night king and the army of the dead. Arya returning home, after she becomes an assassin. Destroying house Frey for killing some of her family. Planned to kill Cersei, since she was on her list. But learns Jon, took back Winterfell.

Cersei, becomes the Queen. After her oldest son, Joffrey dies at his own wedding from poison. Because Lady Olenna, of house Tyrell, didn't want her gran daughter to marry a monster. She is then the wife, of Joffrey's older brother, Tommen Baratheon. They support these religious radicals, named the Sparrows. Cersei found the Tyrells as a threat, who backed the Lannisters support of the crown, by defeating Stannis Baratheon and his army at Blackwater bay. By the way, Tyrion did all the work as hand of the king. So Cersei and her trusted maester, Qyburn, destroyed the Tyrells and Sparrows. Her youngest son and King, Tommen. Committed suicide, after watching his beloved wife being killed. So Cersei becomes Queen, and her twin and one handed brother, right on her side. Samwell Tarly, Jon's best friend, and his girlfriend, Gilly. Founds out who Jon's real mother is, at the Citadel in old town, while Sam tries to get his maester's chains. Jon's, real mother was his Aunt Lyanna Stark. His father was Rhaegar Targaryen. They had a private marriage ceremony. And were actually in love. So Robert's rebillion was built on a lie. Sam comes to Winterfell to tell Jon the news, so was Bran Stark since he can see the past.

Daenarys, all her trusted friends, armies and dragons. Comes to Westeros. Taking back Dragonstone, as i mentioned. Getting allies from Olenna Tyrell, Greyjoys and Martells. Jon learns from Sam, that Dragonstone has dragonglass on the island, which can defeat White walkers and the army of the dead. As he learned from Hardhome. He becomes the new King of the North, united all the wildlings as well. He gets a raven from Dragonstone, from Tyrion, to come and ally with Daenarys, to take down Cersei. But he needs her dragons and armies to defeat the Night King. They eventually, become allies, once Dany loses her own allies by getting defeated by Cersei and Euron Greyjoy and his Navy. Jon wants to prove to Cersei, the threat is real, and not just myths and legends. So, he with Gendry Baratheon, Hound, the brother hood without banners, Tormund and Jorah Mormont. Go beyond the wall, to take 1 member of the army of the dead. To show Cersei. They were about to all die, before Dany and her dragons arrive. The Night king, kills one of her dragons, Viserion. While they escape. Viserion, is brought back to life, and now a zombie dragon. Jon and Dnay start falling in love, with no idea their aunt and nephew. They eventually bring the one foot undead foot soldier, to King's Landing for Cersei. She tells them she will help them. But she's more focused on her hate against Dany. And goes back on her word. Jamie Lannister, leaves his sister, finally. And aids the Starks and Targaryens.

Arya, Bran reunited with Sansa back at Winterfell, after many years. Jon returns with all the armies and dragons, at the start of season 8, and his new Queen, Dany. Sam and Bran, tells Jon he's the one true heir to the Iron throne, and is actually the cousin of the 3 remaining Stark children. Jon now knows why Ned protected him all those years. He tells Dany soon after, what he has learned. She is speechless. And now sees Jon as a threat for her crown. Jamie Lannister arrives in King's landing, and forgiving by Dany, for the death of her father. Little finger was killed by Arya, for betraying the Starks, killing Jon and Lysa Arryn. Gendry becomes the new Lord of the Stormlands, since his father, the late King Robert died. So did his uncles, Stannis and Renly. Gendry also falls in love with Arya Stark. As their two houses has always been close friends. The Night King, and the army of the dead arrive the next morning, as did the Red woman. After she was banned for killing Stannis Baratheon's daughter, as a sacrifice to the Lord of light. But the Red woman, Jorah Mormont, Theon Greyjoy, Beric, and many other dies in the great battle. Arya kills the Night King, and that was that. Everyone soon goes down to King's Landing, to take down Cersei. Jon starts drifting away from Dany, as they are related. But she still is in love with him. But she loses her second dragon, thanks to Euron Greyjoy, also her most trusted friend, Missandei, gets captured. Gets beheaded in front of her beloved Greyworm, and Dany. Because Dany doesn't submit and forfit to Cersei. This is where Dany does off the deep end, and becomes who she hates, her father.

The Mad queen is born once Missandei and her second baby is slain. She ignores her counsel from Tyrion and Varys, to spare the innocence of King's Landing, and their 1 million population. It's all revenge now. She burns Varys alive with dragon fire, after he supports Jon as the true heir to the Iron throne. With her last dragon, Drogon. Burns down the city, kills so many people. Hound, Arya and Jamie arrive into King's Landing once everything goes down. Jon, the northmen, the remaining Dothraki, and Greyworm and the Unsullied, also gets there. They down the Golden company and the Lannister forces. Jamie kills Euron Greyjoy, but badly wounded to find his beloved Cersei, after he left Brienne for her. The Hound and The Mountain, kill each other, since these brothers had bad blood. Qyburn dies as well. The walls collapse at the castle, killing Cersei and Jamie. Tyrion, finds his siblings motionless. And throws his Hand of the queen pain in anger. Dany arrests him, and takes the throne. Jon visits Tyrion in his cell. And Tyrion tells him Dany needs to die. She will always find him a threat since he is the true heir. She is nothing but a tyrant now. Jon, kills his lover and his Queen, Daenarys Targaryen. To save the realm from more blood and death. Drogon sees this, doesn't kill Jon, but melts the Iron Throne. Cause he even knows, it's nothing but corruption.

The show ends, by Jon in a cell by Greyworm, for the death of his Queen. All of the Lords and Ladies elect a new king, Bran Stark. Which shocked all the viewers. Tyrion, says he is the past, present and future. Even if he can't have kids from his disability. They elect a new King or Queen down the road, instead of bloodline rule. Tyrion becomes his hand, Brienne of Tarth becomes his King's guard commander, Ser Davos, master of his, Bronn becomes Master of Coin and the new ruler of the Reach, because Cersei erased the Tyrells, and Jamie kills Lady Olenna during the war. Samwell Tarly, becomes Grand Maester. Sansa tells her brother, that the North has had enough wars and deaths, wants to be their own country. She is now Queen of the North. Bran is now King of the 6 kingdoms, not 7. Arya travels to see if there is land to the West. Leaving Gendry heartbroken. And Jon, goes back to the Night's watch, to reunite with Tormund, the wildlings and his Dire wolf, Ghost.

Many people were frustrated with the ending, saying it was rushed and didn't make sense with Bran becoming King. But it was a lot of information to cram in. Also with George RR Martin, not finishing the books. They had to do their best. I was shocked but not upset. Game of thrones is the best fantasy series by far. Mixing knights, dragons, politics, pirates, armies of the dead, witches, giants, assassins, and many other fun elements. The schemes and action, are legendary. Many, many beloved and complex characters. How they evolve and grow. It's not predictable like most stories, with the good guys always winning. The landscapes and different filming, cultures and music of the world, all wrapped in one. Game of thrones will always be my favorite Fantasy because of those reasons. One of the greatest book series and TV shows of all time. House of the Dragon, cannot come sooner..
