Emily in Paris - A Netflix Series Review
Get ready to be spoiled with terrific views in the Netflix series, 'Emily in Paris.'

We’re on our way to Paris! This is going to be fantastique!
Emily in Paris is a 2020 Netflix series. Emily, a young American woman is given the opportunity to travel to Paris. Work for a marketing firm, Emily is faced with challenges. Willing to do everything to add an American perspective Emily does not back down.
I was excited to check out Emily in Paris on Netflix. For anyone who is trying to stick their foot in the door, this series is a great example of that. It engrosses audiences with stunning images of Paris. However, while Emily in Paris influences audiences, most of the titular characters’ actions are not acceptable.
As a headstrong young woman, Emily’s best trait is her determination. Lily Collins was spectacular. For any young woman who is just starting in the business world, Collins motivates viewers. That being said, Emily does not make the smartest judgments. She got herself into dilemmas, creating tension. By the end of the series, I despised Emily’s behavior.
Other credits to include are Phillippine Leroy-Beaulieu, Ashley Park, Lucas Bravo, Samuel Arnold, Bruno Gouery, Camille Razat, and William Abadie. The characters are fun. As I have been reading through most reviews, I agree that the French could have been portrayed in a better light.
Leroy-Beaulieu gives a strong performance. The boss of any business always has a tough position. I wish we could have had more focus on Sylvie instead of investing in her love life as we did with Emily.
No matter what, friends are always here. Ashley Park is the highlight of Emily in Paris. Mindy is a great character who had a lot of depth. More than Emily honestly. Park showcases incredible talents, even singing in her outstanding voice. I am looking forward to seeing more of Parks in upcoming media.
Costumes, hairstyles, and makeup are characters of their own in the series. The outfits were amazing! Patricia Field did an outstanding job with the costumes. In some episodes, Emily goes through a total of six outfit changes!
Get ready to be spoiled with terrific views of Paris. The series was filmed on location in Paris and spent time in famous tourist sites. I wanted to join along on some of the adventures like the art galleries, walking over bridges with gorgeous views, or just sipping a glass of wine. Set designs were great spending time in splendid arenas, homes, and apartments.
My mouth was salivating at all the delicious foods. I have missed traveling. One of the best messages that Emily in Paris presented was the importance of exploring the world. Take advantage of any opportunity that you are given. Once the pandemic has lifted, I want to go to Paris.
Usage of social media platforms was used to the highest extreme. The production team did a great job with the special effects, incorporating some snazzy effects into the show.
The series started with a good flow, but then it got lost focusing on Emily’s love life. I was hoping for the series to center more on Emily’s work-life instead of this love triangle. Darren Starr created a series about how to branch out in the work world.
Starr could have given better focus to this instead of turning the series into a love triangle. There are several cringe-worthy moments especially one arc in an episode that was unneeded. The series bordered on the usual cliches, but it is still fun to watch.
Overall, I enjoyed watching Emily in Paris. I look forward to seeing what happens in season 2. It’s a series that you should look into.
