Daniel Gregory Feuerriegel is the new EJ on DAYS OF OUR LIVES

DAYS OF OUR LIVES viewers will be happy to know that a fan-favorite character will soon return to Salem only with a new face. Elvis Aaron Dimera AKA EJ has been portrayed by James Scott since 2006 but beginning June 9 Australian actor Daniel Gregory Feuerriegel will take over the role. This may be a disappointment for fans who were hoping that Scott would come back.

Longtime fans will recall that Eileen Davidson left THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS where she had been portraying Ashley Abbott and took on the dual roles of Kristen Dimera and Susan Banks on DAYS OF OUR LIVES. Susan was an over the top Elvis Pressley fan and Stefano Dimera decided to have some fun with her. He dressed up one day as the king of rock and roll and duped Ms. Banks into believing she was having sex with the real Elvis.

When she gave birth to her son Susan named him for his father and he was called EJ which was short for Elvis Junior. James Scott walked away from DAYS OF OUR LIVES and Hollywood in 2014 for a more simple life and has said that he will never never never never return. Other soap vets have said the same but eventually returned so time will tell. DAYS OF OUR LIVES fans had been holding out hope that Scott would change his mind but the former actor says he is enjoying life with meditation

When EJ first arrived in Salem he was immediately was smitten with Sami Brady. There was some controversy from viewers when EJ forced Sami to have sex with him in exchange for saving the life of her first love Lucas Horton. The couple's son Johnny was the result of the rape. When Sami and EJ married the first time it was so that Stefano's son could stay in the country and not be deported by immigration. EJ and Sami split up and go on to other relationships but eventually reunite. EJ was presumed dead after being shot by Clyde Weston but in 2017 Kristen reveals that he is alive.

No details have yet been released regarding what EJ will be up t0 when he returns to Salem but DOOL fans can get to kno0w more about the man who will -portray the character this time around. Daniel Gregory Feuerriegel was born on October 29, 1981, and has had roles in a number of Australian television series. The actor first came to international notice when he portrayed the gladiator recruit "Agron" in the hit Starz series SPARTACUS: BLOOD AND SAND, SPARTACUS: VENGEANCE SPARTACUS: WAR OF THE DAMNED.

In 1989 Feuerriegel graduated from a Catholic school, Villanova College, which is located in the Brisbane suburb of Coorparoo, Queensland. He also studied acting at the Queensland University of Technology in Brisbane, graduating in 2002. He was featured in the controversial 2005 short 'BOYS GRAMMAR' which depicted a rape at an all boys school. He was aLso a cast member of SMALL CLAIMS: WHITE WEDDING.

In 2006 Feurriegel appeared in the short film TRUE and was a recurring character on the hit series 'MCLEOD'S DAUGHTERS. He also had the role of Kim in the series STUPID STUPID MAN in the episode "The Reunion". In 2007 he was in the short film BETWEEN THE FLAGS and in 2008 he had a recurring role on the series HOME AND AWAY.
