Who is lurking in Daisy's nursery?

Amid the chaos at the Quartermaine mansion, marked by family infighting and shocking revelations, there is a mystery to be solved on General Hospital. Sasha Gilmore ( Sophia Mattsson) has discovered that something is not quite right in her daughter, Daisy Gilmore Corinthos, (Levi Clark Coughlin) nursery.

Sasha has noticed that Daisy is often dressed in different clothes than she left her in and is sometimes turned in the opposite direction in her crib. No harm has come to the child so this situation does not appear to be a kidnapping attempt.

If it were, Daisy would likely have already been taken, and a ransom would have been demanded. The Quartermaine home is heavily guarded, resembling Fort Knox, and always filled with people. Thus making it nearly impossible for any intruders to enter and exit undetected.

Is this an inside job?

If Jenz Sidwell or another enemy of Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) were behind these incidents they would be more sinister. Since nothing serious has happened to the baby, this suggests the possibility that the pranks are an inside job.

Sasha also noticed that milk was in the kitchen cabinet rather than the refrigerator leading her to believe she was making mistakes. Who could be roaming around the house undetected, making subtle changes except someone who lives there?

Is Monica the mystery culprit?

What if General Hospital is finally addressing the character of Monica Quartermaine (last played by Leslie Charleson), who is rarely seen but often mentioned to be upstairs? Perhaps Monica has been visiting the kitchen late at night and making trips to the nursery to spend time with her great-granddaughter while no one else is around.

Charleson passed away on January 12th of this year, but her character is still referenced, and giving orders from her bedroom. GH tapes about six weeks in advance so there has been ample time to have had Dr. Quartermaine found deceased in the house or bring on a recast.

Perhaps out of respect for the soap vet who spent 45 years on the ABC daytime drama, they did not want to kill off or replace her character too soon. Frank Valentini has been silent except to reveal that he talked to Charleson practically every day until she was hospitilized and passed away.

Who will Erica Slezak portray?

General Hospital fans know that Erica Slezak, known for portraying Vicky Buchanan on One Life to Live, is set to join the cast. However, her role is shrouded in secrecy and has not yet been announced. Fans speculate about two possible scenarios: she could be a replacement for Charleson, allowing Monica to continue or she might be introduced as a long-lost sister of Dr. Quartermaine.

A sibling who has not yet been introduced is probably not living in the home undetected which brings us to the next conclusion. Is it possible that the woman who owns the mansion is dealing with dementia, leading her to rearrange things for Daisy? Slezak’s character might arrive in Port Charles to assist her ailing sibling who might soon die.

If the veteran actor is a recast for Charleson then Monica might be discovered soon, roaming the house at night and could this be the way Slezak debuts in the role? As of now, there have been no announcements confirming the character she will play or when taping will begin.

One thing General Hospital fans know for certain is that Monica’s storyline will need to be addressed, whether through a recast or the character’s demise. Stay tuned for updates related to the mystery surrounding Daisy's nursery, Monica's fate, and the identity of Erica Slezak's character.
