Cosplay Review: Scarlet Witch from “WandaVision”
Here’s a review of an adorable cosplay based on Wanda Maximoff’s “Scarlet Witch” costume from “WandaVision”

During the uncertain times of the COVID-19 Pandemic in 2020, I embarked on a captivating cosplay journey, transforming myself into the enigmatic Wanda Maximoff from Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Infinity War. With my sister as my talented photographer, we ventured to a nearby park, where she captured my essence as Wanda in stunning photographs. After carefully selecting my favorite shots, I eagerly shared them on social media, hoping to bring a spark of joy to the Marvel cosplay community. The response I received was overwhelmingly positive, ranging from heartfelt comments appreciating my dedication to bringing Wanda to life during these challenging times to individuals sharing and reposting my photos with their followers.

This marked my third cosplay project for social media during the pandemic, following my portrayals of Captain Marvel and Kitty Pryde from X-Men. My passion for cosplay stems from the belief that even in the most trying circumstances, we can find solace and empowerment through creativity and imagination. Through my cosplays, I strive to ignite joy and infuse a sense of magic into people’s lives, reminding them of the extraordinary potential within themselves.

Four years later, I revisited Wanda Maximoff, this time by creating her "Scarlet Witch" design from the WandaVision mini-series. I'd been eyeing this costume for some time and purchased it through ProCosplay. I trust ProCosplay as they provide high-quality cosplay costumes, and I've had positive experiences with them in the past.

To gain the costume, I used the "shop" option on ProCosplay's Discord page, where I could redeem my saved points for various costume options. One of the available options was a knitted version of the "Scarlet Witch" costume, which was priced at $99.
Before redeeming my points, I thoroughly reviewed the costume's details and quality. Despite the absence of a vest that's typically attached to the cape, I found the costume satisfactory. I selected the "buy" option on the Discord page and exchanged my points for the "less than $100 costume" option.
To ensure that I received the correct costume, I reached out to the admin and specified my selection. They promptly responded within a day, confirming my order. Furthermore, as a seasoned cosplay veteran with ten years of experience, I value screen accuracy in my projects. To enhance the authenticity of my costume, I exchanged additional points for a $50 gift card, which I used to purchase screen-accurate shoes that complemented the outfit seamlessly.

Weeks later, my Wanda costume and shoes arrived, and the craftsmanship of the medium-sized outfit astounded me. The pleather collar, knitted arm-sleeve mittens, and bendable tiara coalesced into a visually stunning ensemble. When I mention "knitted," I not only refer to the mittens but also to the intricately knitted sections of the top and girdle, which could easily be mistaken for screen-accurate replicas.
The cape, though intended for cooler months, was well-made and would provide warmth during fall and winter photoshoots. While I usually wear a small or medium, I opted for a medium because of my muscular chest and waistline. I wanted to ensure it fit comfortably, especially since I planned to wear it for autumnal events and photoshoots when the New Hampshire weather turns chillier. Additionally, I could layer a nude bodysuit underneath for extra warmth.
The 6.5 wide shoes fit perfectly, hugging my feet like gloves. Removing them was effortless.

Regarding the Scarlet Witch costume from ProCosplay, I would highly recommend it, giving it a perfect score of 10 out of 10. The costume fit me exceptionally well, like a glove, ensuring maximum comfort while wearing it. I had no concerns about it accidentally coming apart, as I thoroughly tested it out while creating TikTok videos and related content. I plan to wear it again in the fall for a photo shoot and possibly produce more content showcasing the costume.
If you're considering purchasing cosplays from reputable shops like ProCosplay, my advice would be to consider sizing up. Sometimes, sizes can run slightly smaller in overseas countries compared to the United States. Choosing a larger size can save you time and money by avoiding the need for any tailoring alterations.
If you would like to order your own WandaVision Scarlet Witch suit, please visit the link here. The current price for it is $150.33 without the shoes.
