On Monday December 8th, Marvel and Sony Pictures Animation rocked the collective socks off the nerdiverse with the unexpected release of a teaser trailer for a computer-animated Spider-Man film that fans are now anxiously waiting a whole flippin' year to see. December 14th, 2018 will bring to the big screen the thrilling release of the super cool-looking Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.

Marvel is one of the biggest names in the superhero game, and that's why when they teamed up with streaming powerhouse, Netflix, a few years back to create original content, people got excited. The Netflix original, Daredevil came out in April of 2015 to rave reviews, and since then the shows have been coming pretty rapidly.

Marvel and Fox: Reunited and It Feels so Good
So by now, I'm certain you have heard about the over $50 BILLION deal Disney made to acquire a rather large portion of 20th Century FOX. This obviously has huge implications. Years ago, Marvel had to sell off some of its properties to stay in business. Eventually, Disney bought Marvel. Now, Disney bought the company that bought the properties that were sold. Following this, it, essentially, makes it seem like Marvel never sold any of its properties in the first place. With all that in mind, let's take a look at what the deal means. Well, some of what it means, anyways.

Some Ideas for Marvel Phase 4
With the release of the trailer for Avengers: Infinty War, we have seen the beginning of the end for Marvel Studios Phase 3. As a lifelong Marvel fan, I'm excited to see what's next for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and so I give to you three ideas for films in the next phase. I have many more, but unlike many film studios at the moment, I'll see if the demand is there before I embark on a cinematic universe. Between these films we'll get Guardians 3 and sequels to Dr. Strange, Black Panther, Captain Marvel and Ant-Man, but those can be addressed another time.

Top 10 Avengers: Infinity War Trailer Fan Moments!
The Avengers: Infinity War trailer came out this past Wednesday and it was meet with a thunderous reception. It has already set the record for most views in a trailers first 24 hours. Marvel movie fans had been waiting impatiently since the for the trailer since the first footage was released at D23 over the summer. They were treated with more then they could have ever expected. The two minute plus clip was riddled with amazing moments that made fans excited but I'm am going to do the impossible task of ranking the top ten moments that made fans go crazy.

Why is the Marvel Cinematic Universe so successful?
At this point, most of the world has heard of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU for short) and many people have questioned why the MCU continues to thrive and bring in more and more people when other cinematic universes go belly up. When thinking and watching Marvel movies from their Phase One, movies coming out between Iron Man (2008) and The Avengers (2012), you notice something that is extremely different than the DC Extended Universe (DCEU) and Universals Darkness Universe — they weren’t planning for the future.

Thor Ragnarok Review
Hayden's Overall Grade: A- Thor Ragnarok is the third solo film for the God of Thunder and it also marked the seventeenth overall film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This new take on the Asgardian gave new life to a struggling franchise and let Thor finally showcase his entire set of skills. It really delivered on the storytelling and gave you plenty of laughs along the way. Impressively, the film was also able to throw in a decent amount of heart and sorrow that made the film a fitting flow and allowing the franchise to finish it's run on an impressive note.

Defenders Issue 1-5
With the news that Brian Michael Bendis would be moving from Marvel Comics to DC Comics, I decided I would describe the plot of my favorite series of his. The current run of Defenders will be passed to someone else of course, but Bendis finished at least one volume of the Defenders. This series takes the Netflix superheroes and places them into the street team of "The Defenders." Bendis has had great series, but currently, this has been my favorite series to read. For no spoilers, skip to the last paragraph. It may feel unusual once passed on to another writer, but enough of that and let us get on with issue 1.

Fantastic Fan Fiction Asks: What If Marvel's Black Panther Met The ThunderCats?
On November 9, Atlanta-based comic book maker Marcus Williams (Tuskegee Heirs) caught the nerdiverse by surprise when he posted to his Facebook page the first spine-tingling installment of a 6-part fan art/fan fiction saga, Black Panther/ThunderCats! As one might rightly expect, the followers of his feed have been loosing their $#@% ever since––and who can blame ‘em? Most Black Panther fans right now are wound up tighter than a one size fits all tube top on Power Girl.
