Cloud Atlas with a Chance of Sense8

Connecting human existence

Reflections made Whole

One theme that has stood the test of time in my consciousness has always been connecting people. Connecting them in a deeper way than traditional familial structures through birth or marriage.

Concepts of rebirth and immortality were always intriguing and inspiring to me. Even more, when they broach on stories of love so deep, and true that it spans lifetimes.

When I first saw the movie Cloud Atlas, a book written by David Mitchell, brought to screen and released as a movie in October of 2012, I was instantly drawn into the mysterious unfolding of diverse connections between seemingly dis-connected individuals.

The dichotomy of love and tragedy woven into practically every scene.

I have since watched the Cloud Atlas many, many times. Partially because I was so curious about its writer, and partially, to further my understanding of the threads of connection between these characters.

Which to this day, I have to say, I could still find de-mystifying aspects that I have missed.

I enjoyed the mental yoga my brain had to do to comprehend the plots tendency to make obscure the clear lense of an individual.

The blurred edges of where one life ends, and another begins.

Where one person ends, and another begins.

That place of unified consciousness that teases at the edges of common knowledge.

If you enjoyed Cloud Atlas, then I highly recommend the Series Sense8.

Wouldn’t we all Love Friends like these?

These stories have more in common than just their shared leading Lady, Bae Doona.

Sadly, Sense 8 was cancelled after two rock solid seasons of, in my opinion, not to be missed scene setting, writing, and conceptual realities.

As well as realistically portrayed LGBTQ inclusivity, or more correctly vindication and acceptance.

I found the connections amongst these 8 so profound, they suggest an expansive potential in humanity that I found truly inspiring.

Concepts of Love overcoming all obstacle, of our differences being truly inconsequential. Highlighting our essences being what truly count in a world full of cardboard cut out options for personalization.

From beginning to end I was engaged with the writing, storylines and progression that was so perfectly entangled.

The storyline touches on mysticism and immortality as almost a secondary theme to the intimate and telepathic connection of the 8 superconneted individuals, that quite literally had me in love with each of them by the end of the available seasons.

I loved the fierce commitment the 8 displayed, at every point to overcome darkness, to support each other without fail, and without any doubt. Each knew they would not face any difficulty alone, or any joy without profound celebration.

I think the world would be in a better position all in all, if our sensitivities allowed us to be so connected to each other as these brave and unforgettable characters were.

My spirit craves a world where the barriers to unity melt away, and no longer allow for hatred and separation.

All of this is topped off by some of the steamiest most sensual loving I have ever seen presented for the purpose of entertainment.

Who doesn’t love great sex, with someone, or someone’s that we love so deeply?

Honestly it put porn to shame, and returns sex to the loving and the committed.

In all forms love is the answer. Away from fear, away from greed, away from war, away from dictatorship and away from oligarchy.

Towards better more enlightened days, where we celebrate our differences as well as our connections. Embracing our similarities as itricate and quantum truths.

If you feel like your life is small watch the Cloud Atlas, if you feel like your life is disconnected watch Sense8.

The Artists who write, produce, act, and facilitate these productions are truly gifted and sharing of their visions. Visions that are mirrors of the unified consciousness that is humanity.

Thank you for reading my, If this then that contest submission, I hope you enjoyed my topic, and that you will dive into Sense 8 and fall in love as I did.

Stay Expansive and Loving Everyone💙
